Leafs to give Engvall qualifying offer, unsure on Kase

The 26-year-old Engvall played in 78 games for the Maple Leafs last season, scoring 15 goals and registering 35 points.

Engvall was selected with the 188th pick in the 2014 NHL Draft by the Maple Leafs, but didn’t debut with the team until the 2019-20 season. Last season was Engvall’s most complete as he was able to push his points per game ratio closer to the highest it has been in his career, while also recording the highest plus-minus rating of his career with a plus-13. In his 17 career playoff games, Engvall has recorded just four points, all assists.

Makes sense with mikheyev leaving... Honestly it's likely for Kase to retire man is a risk to play the game for permanent damage

Dubas might look like a genius when all is said and done.

Teams looking to move goalies like Talbot, Varly, Blackwood & possibly Gibson will come crawling to us when all teams have their starters locked up.

Guerin definitely coming across taking a tough position. But there's no avoiding the fact that having a well liked vet be openly unhappy with staying in the team is hardly going to be good for the Wild long term into the season

I think it's the right stance to take and not appear weak infront of GM peers and lose leverage

Yeah sounds like someone that is frustrated at the position he's given but might be a bad situation to have disgruntled players sticking around. Not fair to Talbot.

Whatever contending team Talbot possibly goes to, it’ll be in a tandem which is what I don’t get… I don’t think anyone here would be happy going into next season with a Talbot - Woll situation. If we got Talbot, we’re still looking at getting someone like Blackwood or Murray at 50% retention, etc.

Problem is...He's likely gonna have to battle for the crease wherever he is traded likely...I dont think he'll be a true number one. It has to be a tandem/share the net goal.

Russo clarified a bit apparently.

I like this response by Guerin... great leadership and showed no weakness. who does that agent think Talbot is? McDavid.... he is a 35 year old meh goalie under contract.

Sooooo

Washington Toronto. Edmonton buffalo

Fighting for.

Jack. Murray. Kuemper. Hill/kakkonen?

With…. Comrie. Holtby in ufa as backups?

Gotta think Toronto provides best opportunity but I don’t see them taking 5 million.

I think they wait to see if Murray gets bought out
