In terms of what I would give up for Talbot? Maybe Holl.

Honestly Gibson could become the high-priced desperation move a team like the Leafs have to make, not so bad if Washington is out of the running for the remaining starters.

I think a 40% retention would be fine, the cost would be the same as Mrazek.

Considering they are looking at $5mm for a starter, even a 20-25% retention would work.

No, it's neither. Mrazek just had a season where he posted 30 points below his career SA%; unless you can see the future, that doesn't magically make the singing wrong. And the trade to dump him after that wasn't Marleau-level, so I don't know anyone's bringing it up. Unlike Mrazek, EVERYONE knew the 3rd year on Marleau's contract was going to be brutal.

Read the post I commented on, it was how Matthews hasn't done comparable to McDavid or Makar.... my comment was to simply prove that Matthews was exceptional while the player making 11 million on his wing wasn't (and he makes more than Makar and shares a letter with Matthews). I think it's fair to compare the two. They play on the same line, make roughly the same money, share an A. What's wrong?

Not sure how this is showing an obsession with Marner...I know your upset that your favorite player is being talked negatively about, but I'm a Leaf fan not a marner fan.

You say second best player in your comment...why am I then not allowed to respond to you and say the 11 million dollar Marner since getting 11 million and since the beginning of his NHL career has paced roughly 8 goals and 69 points while playing with elite centers (not just good ones) and he has been the source of the last two game 6 elimination game losses?

You don't say "second best player" and I don't argue that suggestion with facts and evidence (you would too if there were any).
