None really. They should be more creative. Keumper I guess... maybe Holtby ... but Leafs really need a stud. Not easy to get but they should be exploring the possibility of a bigger trade for a goalie.
Who would that stud be ? Helley, Gibson, Varlamov are the only proven starters that could be moved. Blackwood, Hart ???

With Fleury resigned, Mrazek traded, husso gone to Detroit, Wedgewood resigned, Forsberg resigned and Georgiev to Colorado what now...

Goalies remaining:
Resigning Jack Campbell
Darcy Kuemper
Braden Holtby
Kevin Lankinen
Martin Jones
Thomas Greiss
Eric Comrie
Jaroslav Halak
David Rittich
Dustin Tokarski
Charlie Lindgren
Jon Gillies

What combo of goalies do we want?

I'm thinking a veteran goalie like Holtby + trading for a young goalie with potential (Samsonov, Vanecek, Blackwood, Hart)
2 less sexy trade candidates: Talbot, Hill

I think the rumour is Campbell to Edmonton.

I didnt see much Husso to Edmonton.

Even then the reports were just that Edmonton will make a strong pitch for him. They have no inside track, they can’t even talk to him

NJ & EDM are going to overpay both of them.

Gibson or Helly to Toronto hopefully

Yeah Campbell and Keumper firmly sit in the better end of average range to me. If they want this kind of money, I hope we have some other move in the cards. We can replace average for a lot less money if aren’t getting a stud which these guys clearly aren’t

We'll end up giving Campbell $5M in the end. I'm not a fan of his but it'll be a case of settling in with whatever is left.

Matt Murray still seems to be a possibility but Ottawa would have to retain or attach a pick or player for the Leafs to take on that risk with that cap hit.

Can someone explain to me how John Gibson is expensive at just over 6m when Ville Husso is making just under 5?

One is infinitely more talented and has been playing on an awful team.

I don't think the big problem with Gibson is the cap hit per say, it's generally the price to acquire that is the problem. His value, production and cap hit make it highly risky and questionable.

Husso got a contract based on his performance this past season. Gibson's contract is based on performance from years ago.
