Only if they are not making the playoffs. Odds are he's not a Leaf by the end of July.
Arizona has no shot at the playoffs. They are a joke of an NHL franchise and will probably get rewarded for their ineptitude by lucking out on the Conor Bedard lottery :thumbd:

Yeah I thought the poster was talking Leafs dealing him at the TDL. Clearly he was talking Zona.

....and Holl had better be moved within the division. He seems like he'd be great in Ottawa or Buffalo.
Seems like a perfect fit for Dallas. Hakanpaa is their only RHD signed for next year and they don't have any coming through the system.

Nashville could use him as-well if they buy out Myers. They could also re-sign Benning but Holl has been better.

If Carolina don't qualify Bear they would have a need. Holl would be a perfect low salary, good advanced numbers bet for them.

Besides that I don't see any teams that would benefit from a 30 year old pending UFA.

Remember Holl and Muzzin shutting down McDavid and Draisaitl in the Canadian division?
That was awesome but I don't want to live in a world where Holl is taking minutes away from Liljegren.

Reality is that they probably won't re-sign him after this season. I consider him part of that outside core that should be moved for picks/prospects while they have value. We can't simply let everyone walk as UFA.

I don't think Liljegren gets blocked by Holl next year. Sandin is the greater concern, but he is blocked by Muzzin and Gio a lot more than by Holl.

We would need to find an appropriate replacement for Holl if we move him. I still vote Dronov, but other options may also make sense.

could be an interesting speedy 2nd line.......not sure how JT would do on a shut down line tho....4th would need to take that shape and 3rd a slower scoring line?

Engvall Tavares Kase?

He is another leftie though. He may still be better than Holl but is that his best chance to succeed?

I agree, Liljegren over Holl anyday.

But people saying he should be traded within division so the leafs can feast is kind of funny.

He plays a lot of the time on RD though. The love to switch sides a lot in Russia, and they have a lot more LHD than RHD so you get guys like Dronov who play their off-side a fair bit.

Interesting..

A couple of questions and thoughts.

Why is Niederreiter going to take a pay cut to come here? His last contract was $5.525 per

You've got to sign Wood, Crouse, Engvall, Liljegren and Sandin with $11.6 mil.

Both Wood and Crouse are LW. Comtois might also be an available option. Reilly Smith is going to go UFA as well, and could fit in here, as an option instead of Niedereiter. He's from Mimico, into his thirties, Vegas can't sign him with cap issues, Him signing for $4mil would also be a discount though. He's good on PK as well as the PP.

Overall interesting lineup, probably more changes than they'll make, but it's a pretty good attempt.

Keifer Sherwood would be a safe bet as Bunting 2.0. His underlying numbers in his 26 games over the last 2 years have been very strong (stronger than Bunting's 21 game sample in 20-21). He has 46 goals, 91 points in 67 AHL games over the last 2 years and an additional 10 points (4 goals) in 8 playoff games. He is a 6'0 right shot left winger. Seems like a strong fit.

none of it makes sense. The second OA would not be as useful to us as william for the playoffs. And no matter how good the guys up top are, are we really going to pin our hopes on mackenzie f***ing blackwood lmao?

New York Rangers prospect Vitali Kravtsov has rejected an extension in the KHL and appears to be eyeing a return to North America.

Traktor Chelyabinsk general director Ivan Savin told Sports.Ru on Monday he believes Kravtsov will return to the Rangers organization.

“Vitali Kravtsov did not accept the offer of the club, he did not explain the reasons for the refusal. Although we made an offer in full accordance with his requirements," Savin said, per Google translate. "The rights to (Kravtsov) in the KHL remain with Traktor.

"Apparently, Kravtsov decided to go overseas to play. But I think that he needs to spend a full season at Traktor and then go to the NHL.”

The Rangers loaned the ninth-overall pick in 2018 NHL Draft to the KHL club in November after he refused assignment to the AHL's Hartford Wolf Pack.

The 22-year-old winger had six goals and 13 points in 19 games with Traktor this season, adding seven goals and 10 points in 15 playoff games.

Kravtsov made his NHL debut during the 2020-21 season, recording two goals and two assists in 20 games with the Rangers.

Blackwood wouldn't be my first choice for sure. Moving Nylander allows him to trade for JT Miller, who brings similar production, so I'd call that a net zero in this case...plus having the second OA.

Robertson Kerfoot Nylander

Engvall Tavares Kase?

Tavares is not going to play on a shutdown line with guys like Engvall/Kase. Kampf is a much better fit for those two (especially on a shutdown line), and

Bunting - Matthews - Marner
??? - Tavares - Nylander
Robertson - ??? - Anderson (bottom 6 offense line)
Engvall - Kampf - Kase (shutdown line)

There is a fit for that 2nd line, but other than Knies and maybe Joey Anderson, it is not someone we already have in the organization. If it was someone similar to Kase, but maybe had a little bit more ability down low and in front of the net (Kase/Engvall are fine enough there, but not good enough to be on a 2nd line), then that would be perfect.

If we want to split up the 2nd line, then swap Anderson and Nylander, or even swap both sets of wingers and have Robertson/Anderson playing with Tavares and Nylander/2LW playing with the new 3C.

And before anyone asks if Anderson deserves to be in our lineup full time next year, I will point out that he had 26 goals and 42 points in 56 AHL games in his 23 year old year. That is better than Hyman, Coleman, and various others who play like them. Anderson is ready for a full-time gig in the NHL, even if it is only in the bottom 6.

One year of Miller for a 1st, Robertson, and Holl?

Nylander for a #2OA, Blackwood, and Wood?

By the 2023 season it's very possible that the only assets playing from the first 2 trade scenarios are Blackwood and Wood.....I wouldn't be expecting #2 OA to be playing, at least not as a regular.

And look what that cost.
