What is a comparable package in value from Toronto? Roni Hirvonen + 2022 2nd? I think I would have been okay with that.

I think Manson would have been a better fit. Right-handed and has more puck-moving ability. And not a UFA this coming off-season.

I would have probably did that trade for Manson.

Problem was more that he didn't want to be traded to the Leafs.

Would have done it too and probably the Leafs too, but with Manson not wanting to come here, can't do anything about that.
Also no Chariot. Get Soucy instead. Same style but better.

Honestly at this point I don’t think the team should be making any moves.
There are just too many holes too fill.
Roll with what we have. Once Dubas and shanahan are relieved of their duties, the new management team can reshape this team the way they see fit.
Do we really want Dubas making any more moves?

Hasn't been that great this year, or any year where he hasn't played with Weber.

And if the refs start calling those penalties that he seems to get away with on the Habs, he is suddenly a major liability.

There is also the matter of who comes out to fit him in. We already invested in Lyubushkin. He is not better than Holl, Rielly, or Brodie, especially at RD. I think the Leafs would put Muzzin in before Chiarot. So is it Sandin, who provides a lot more offense and fills a completely different role than Chiarot?

I am not paying the price for a rental Chiarot just for him to take Sandin out of our lineup. Makes no sense.

If I'm Anaheim I prefer 2nd + Helleson to a late 1st; Helleson is a solid prospect.

That's a bit of an overpay by Colorado but similar to what Tampa gave up to acquire Savard; I guess they too got who they wanted though.

Any way we can re-sign him? It would be awesome if he wasn’t just a rental.

Maybe the Leafs can do what Tampa does and run a killer left side with cheap guys that fit on the right side if they can’t move Muzzin and/or Lindholm can’t play the right side.

I mean that would have been a stupid overpay. They don't need to be mutually exclusive.

I don't see any of our top assets (Robertson, Niemela, Knies, Amirov, 1sts, etc.) being on the table. Hirvonen, Dermott, Abruzzese, SDA, Miettinen, and our 2nd this year are probably the most valuable assets we will be using... And that should be more than enough to get a Varlamov/Fleury (with Mrazek going the other way) and I am not spending assets on anyone else besides maybe McBain's rights.
