For either Gio or Rakell, you're paying a 1st Round Pick. If that's the price, I would Dubas much rather add on to that 1st and just go get Chychrun. With the way this team has failed in the playoffs, I'm tired of wasting 1st round picks with nothing showing for it. Atleast with Chychrun, you have a young top 4 defenseman who's locked in long term at a hell of a deal.

I would be interested in Domi. I know we are at our quota for parents who are too involved but Domi leaves it all on the line. We can use that mentality and heart in the playoffs.

Did not realize that Andrew Copp has 27 goals and 40 assists over his last 102 games (current plus last season).

Hard to gauge Robertson's development with all his injuries, but he could be a solid & a free internal add. Might be the scoring depth we forgot we had because of how he's flown under the radar.

Hopefully he can turn it on to give them a reason to stand pat up front.

I'm happy for Lyub to play but I'd keep Liljegren firmly in the rotation

Over his career Liljegren has taken time sorting himself out at higher levels but once he does he takes off and improves exponentially

I'd like to see us give him time just in case that happens in season
Liljegren will probably play in playoff games in a long run. You need 8-9 guys sometimes. Ideal scenario he's your #7 or 8

Giordano would likely re-sign if brought in.

Joey Anderson as well. I wouldn't count on him as a premier scorer in terms of raw skill, but he goes to the areas to score goals and he is not small (he is listed at 6'0", 207 lbs now... and he certainly plays like it).

Tied for 8th in AHL goal scorer for U26's this year, and other than Jack Quinn and Alex Holtz (who have played less games than him), all of the guys ahead of him have played 5-9 more games than him too.

#1 has 19 goals in 38 games. Anderson has 17 goals in 31. 8 ES, 6 PP, 3 PK. He can snipe it, but a lot of it comes by crashing the net or winning battles out front. Sound familiar?

If you want to contend, deadline rentals are a necessary evil.
I would think a huge portion of them don't work out well.
Thats probably fair but I don't think the rental additions will be what pushes the leafs over the top. I think they will live and die by the play of the big 4 regardless of any adds

And why exactly would we want to resign Gio? Have people not learned anything regarding the Muzzin signing? So you're willing to resign Gio for what 2 yrs at 3.5 million? I'd much rather have Chychrun for the next 3 yrs making 4.25

If he's willing to be our Spezza on D it's worth it.

Forwards should be the priority.

How many years do we have to watch the Leafs struggle to score in the playoffs. Did we lose to Columbus and Montreal because of defense? Of course not. We need more finishers. Last I checked we were barely outperforming our xG. As in we were finishing at close to an average level. Take away Matthews and overall our team is below average at finishing its chances.

Get at least one more guy that can put the puck in the net.

You won't be playing MTL or CBJ these playoffs. Your D and G are tire fires and you just lost Muzz. #1 priority should be a dman but you can still look for an upgrade on #2LW.

Muzzin has been terrible all season so that loss sounds worse than it is. I think people are overreacting to recent games when the big picture is that every single playoffs our scoring drops significantly. The only time I've ever thought our defense cost us in the playoffs was the PK against Boston, but our PK is elite so far this year.

Not sure what he would sign for. I envision a Spezza version on defense

I was just speaking about trading for a rental not choosing him over Chuchrun.

Every playoff we have trouble scoring. We need a power forward on the top 2 lines to create spac3 for our skilled players. We can’t get into prime scoring areas if we are up against a big defence. You only have to look at Montreal who sucks as a team but has a big tough defence who block our skilled players out.

Also our defence is the softest in the league. Opposing teams enter our zone without any physical contact and we don’t have one crease clearer.

Until we get these types we will be one and done,

S rew it put me on the Max Domi train provided daddy stays away, Domi Chychryn would be very nice or Mayfield please

My wish list

Pavelski if Dallas is out

OLEksiak from Seattle

Domi from Columbus

What would these guys cost

I'm not worried about the defense when our PK is still elite. That's been our biggest defensive problems in past postseasons, specifically against Boston.

We will see but Muzzin and Holl shitting the bed most of the year and two rookie dmen is not a good recipe for winning in the playoffs. Lily might be a deer in the headlights similar to Sandin last year. Dubas will be roasted if he stands pat and they fail.

For depth, cost to get Strome and De Haan?

Third line center and bottom 4 defender who can play either spot?

De Haan is UFA, and Strome maybe a player not qualified.
