Dubas usually makes trades for good players, but he’s still struggling to actually build a cohesive and well rounded team.
Chemistry matters. Roles matter. Intangibles matter. Dubas needs to figure that part out.
At what point is it on the players? We are seeing the same problems that we had with Babcock (no, I don't like Babcock). Unfortunately, there is no trade that we win where we trade Nylander, Marner, Matthews, or JT.
Matthews is throwing his weight around more each year. I saw Marner actually hitting some players in the Washington game. I hope these players develop the "gritty" mindset that is lacking. But fundamentally, it's the on the players to adjust (assuming coaching is not the problem).
