Just curious, when is the last time a team either stood pat, or just did 1-2 depth moves (as in bottom pair D, backup goalie, or bottom 6 F) and won a cup?

I would have to guess it was St.Louis Blues or LA Kings.

I would look into Mrazek+ for Samsonov

Caps fans have seemed to sour on him, perhaps they would be interested in a more veteran Czech goalie to mentor Vanecek.

He did look awful the other day against the Leafs... but could be something I would look into in the off-season.

hmmm i read that getzlaf should be available, i think he would be a good addition at a resonable price. i think if we add getz and gio we would be solid without having to give up too much

i can see a brodie gio pairing again

I agree, he’s had a rough stretch but could be a good potential long term move. Definitely more of a potential off season move.

TB didnt really add much the past two years. I know Colman and Goodrow were added but at that time they were really depth additions and not top 6.

I doubt it has any credibility. Anaheim is still within striking distance. Perhaps closer to the deadline if they fall out of it even more the Ducks and Getzlaf will explore a deal.

I can’t imagine them doing so now when they are 2 points out.

Heck, Pat Verbeek just said that they are looking to get better and are talking extension with Lindholm as well. Nothing to suggest the Ducks are selling right now

He also did say he’d want to get something in return for his pending free agents instead of having them walk for free so who knows. I personally doubt Getzlaf moves but maybe at his age he’s willing to go to a serious contender.

9-11-2 since jan 1st, and have played the most games in the league. they are definitely going in the wrong direction imo.

I wouldn’t personally. Kerfoot and Holl are a big part of our penalty kill which has been excellent this year. I really doubt we see any notable regulars moved in a deadline deal. Probably just looking at mostly additions

Doesnt matter if we would because Vancouver surely wouldn’t. If they’re selling they will be looking for futures. Kerfoot and Holl are assets that provide no real value added for a team looking to reset

Made sense last year too, and it didn't happen, so I doubt Getz had any interest, because I'm sure some teams did. Hey, ya never know though, because I believe Getz may have if it really helped the team.

I'd be more open to it now. Vancouver would probably have to really like their chances of re-signing the hometown player (Kerfoot) when the time comes though in order to proceed with this move. I don't think the team particularly needs the additional help at RD either. ()

Id be interested. Probably wouldn't cost an arm and a leg either
