GDT: Trade and Free Agency Thread - 2021/22 PART II

  • Xenforo Cloud will be upgrading us to version 2.3.5 on March 3rd at 12 AM GMT. This version has increased stability and fixes several bugs. We expect downtime for the duration of the update. Yeah I definitely wouldn't mind adding a young C with upside to the system.

Target LA. They desperately need defence and they got quite a few C prospects.

Madden
Turcotte
Villardi
Thomas

Those are just the ones I know of that aren't on the Kings roster that I can remember. Idk if they have many more. Obviously Byfield and Turcotte are off limits probably. Villardi might be. I've always liked Thomas so I've been wanting to target him for a while now.

Funny that turcotte would be off limits while so many have soured on Robertson here.

Robertson has been better than him in the AHL at the same ages (actually turcotte is like 9 months older), and they're both tiny.

Re-unite the Thomas-SDA-Robertson line. Akil Thomas, I thought, was the best of the 3 on that line. Hustle, forechecking and heart. Had a good juniors too if I recall.

I think Turcotte had some stuff come up in the last 1-2 years with homophobic slurs or something?
 
Josh Anderson would be a great get but we'd have to give up Nylander.

Very hesitant but I've seen Josh Anderson's impact in the playoffs and he's exactly what we need in our top 6.

Give up Nylander because they'd need the cap space or because that's Anderson's value?

I'd love for them to grab Anderson, have wanted him for a few years, but IMO, Nylander is an overpayment value wise.

Josh Andersen has way too much term and he’s lazy, does not bring that compete consistently

Should be cheap to acquire then.
I think he would be fantastic here. Obviously the cap will prevent this from happening.
 
We may need to make a trade for a dman depending on how long sandin will be out.

Clearly people see Anderson, and what he does bring that one game.... and a few games in the regular season, and want that. Who wouldn't want that? They just ignore that it isn't consistent.
 
Jack Han's (former Marlies employee) recent tweet insinuates that Josh Ho-Sang may be getting called up (which I imagine means he may be signing a contract).

Very vague so who knows.
