Dumba is pretty far away (4 years?) from being formerly good. He's also looked pretty bad this year overall, his regular and adv stats just aren't good.

If he was having a quality season then I could see teams paying for him. Right now the only place he'd be an upgrade in the top-4 for Playoff teams is TOR (and that's due to injuries).

GM's overpay for guys they shouldn't all the time. It's not unprecedented that someone would pay something for Dumba.

I don’t see Middleton getting moved because it’ll be another failure for BG and I don’t see them conceding that any time soon. The dudes a bottom pairing defensemen on a decent team and a press box defensemen on a cup winning team. He adds some grit, great, at the cost of literally anything to do with the f***ing hockey puck. The $ is fine for what he is, but he’s adding zero to the objective of the game.

If it’s true BG is trying to add a top 6 forward, I have no clue which former/current Penguin is available, but I also don’t trust him to determine whether a player is top 6 or not. He’s not added a single top 6 player in his tenure, only subtracted them.

If Dumba can be moved today to Toronto for a late first (run) and Holl, you do it and don’t look back.
I’m excited to see what Patric Horqvist can do on Boldy’s line

GM's overpay for players that add certain things/specialties:
Size/Physicality/Grit
Scoring/PP
Shutdown/PK
Cup winners
-Dumba has none of these.

GM's will pay something (but not overpay) for:
leadership/locker room
warm body
-This is where Dumba is right now.

When I say overpay, I mean give anything for. I'm not asking for a 1st+prospect for Dumba here.

Simmonds on waivers. MN should pick him up. Then make him and Foligno fight (put it on youtube or something) over who gets #17. It would be more entertaining than some of the games they've played this year.

I’ve been seeing a couple variations of O’Rourke+2nd/3rd for Mittelstadt+R Johnson (Faber’s partner) on CapFriendly. Thoughts?

I don't know enough about Ryan Johnson to have an opinion of that trade. Looks like he's in his last year of NCAA hockey, though. He going to walk as a UFA? If he probably is, this is pretty easy to say no to.

It's a trade you only make with him signing as a stipulation... if you're interested that is.

Absolutely you do that. I have no idea why BUF would, though. Johnson and ROR is a wash, at worst, for us. Mittelstadt has been a disappointment, but he's a skilled player who can play C, and might find a spot beside Boldy. I do that all day long for a 2nd. CM is Tyson Jost'ish, but has a higher ceiling.

If i'm BUF I try to do something else. They are sick of losing, and have plenty of cap. Offer Greenway(upstate NY guy) for one of their forward prospects Peterka/Krebs/Quinn.
