yeah he would not be the worst bottom 6 forward for a year and then we just let him walk at the end of the year or i suppose sell him at the TDL if he is even asked for, for anything at all and get the extra picks from the original trade. i like the idea.
I don't think that Zucker has much value, unless he has a resurgence this year.

Wild trade idea!

Zucc for Zucker + 2024 +2025 Pitt 1sts.

Positives

- Pens future is now. Crosby has three more years. Picks mean far less to them than other teams.... they are going to be crap for a while after their core leaves. Zucc has proven he knows how to play with elite players such as Sid and Malkin. Zucker has been a bust for them, and has negative value at his cap hit, so losing him is a win. Also has a 10 team NTC, making it even harder to trade him.... he would welcome a trade back to MN for family reasons.

- MN already has a good prospect pool, but two more firsts in the next three years would make it even better. MN would hope that PIT is due for a massive regression in 24-25, when Crosby, Malkin, Letang, and Zucc would all be in their late 30's, resulting in MN having a high draft pick for at least one of those years. Boldy can slot in Zucc's spot, arguably, w/o missing a beat. Boldy is, IMO, a bigger, younger, better Zucc. Zucker is sort of a write off at this point, but he would be thrilled to come back to MN, and might be found money as a two way middle six W for one more year before players like Beckman, Ohgren, and Yurov are ready. MN would also lose Zucc's 6M cap hit for 2024.

Negatives

- Zucc is much better than Zucker at this point, and has been a terrific linemate and buddy for Kap. We'd have to hope that Boldy would be Kap's new BFF, and that Kap wouldn't be angered. Nonetheless, MN would be downgrading their team for the next two years up front.

- PIT runs the risk of losing a top draft pick or two should their drop off be sudden.
As long as you can guarantee there is no re-signing of Zucker...

@57special 2 first rd picks and a decent player for Zucc?

wow...then the Wild should absolutely trade him, but still Guerin decided to keep him instead of Fiala.

Kulikov to the Ducks

Alright, well, I'm a little confused by the timing. Seems we could have gotten some kind of draft pick here. His cap hit was no longer an issue. Merrill is out to start the year which means for however long that lasts we only have 6 defensemen, including Addison, who is now surely a lock to make the roster.

Lol… We could have easily brought back Fiala.

"It didn't make sense to keep him, we'd have to move three guys to keep Fiala"
*Moves three guys anyway*

There has to be a bigger move in the pipeline to make this move at this point.

Yeah, I get his point if he actually meant it and follows through with it. But at this point, everything he says is just unreliable.

Unless they are trading for a center, I’m not sure what would make sense.
No we couldn't have. Not for next year when buyout goes up.
Yes we could have. Dumba’s contract is gone and we have Addison/Faber to fill his spot.

Maybe it is Rodrigues? Wouldn't be my first choice but trying to think of other guys who might fit somewhere in Guerin's eyes.

Someone mentioned Patrick Kane as an option to the Wild and now I am daydreaming of us finishing the season with the Kap line, GREEF, and Boldy - Rossi - Kane.

Zuccarello has always been about generating points. if we want to try and win keep him, if we want to tank trade him. i'd certainly be ok with 2 late 1sts.

With the new capspace wild should sign both Milano and Rodriquez.

They can then spend camp seeing if any of jost, steel, Milano and Rodriquez can find chemistry as a temporary GR replacement on the GREEF line or of any click with boldy.

Anyone that doesn't can go on waivers and be claimed or play in Iowa.

True enough. No point in keeping a valuable player like him if the Wild were in a rebuild process. But Guerin thinks this team can win now, then they need Zucc. The weak part of the team is the goaltending imo.
