If a team will trade anything more than a 3rd for Talbot, he should 100% be moved. Don’t need this distraction and we could free up some cap with a cheaper backup. Wallstedt will be ready by 23-24.

Yeah, after this, I don't think an extension is in the cards. BG decided long ago to get rid of Fiala, and we all know the rumors of how past negotiations may have played a role in that. Pretty sure they'd rather have the production required to get the bonuses, than save 850k. None of the A bonuses he's eligable for are exactly easy to get. Some of them can also be hit on rate basis as well, that burying him wouldn't solve.

So trading Kulikov probably isn't good enough. Need to either not overpay by 500k-1M on these extensions he's handed out, trade Dumba, trade Kulikov+, or try to prevent Rossi from hitting some of the bonuses

I don't know what his QO was but he had 80 career games across like 4 seasons and as far as I know, no arbitration rights. So yeah, 2M would have been better, would have actually made a difference, and is still plenty fair for the player. But that's why I say it's an example of Guerin doing the agents job for him.
