If only he came to that realization last year…Guerin has said no 1st or 2nd round picks for rentals. I could see Greenway for a rental though. I think Guerin is just over him on this team.

If you are trading for Kane might as well get towes too, we would need both anyway.
Funny enough, him trading a 2nd for a MAF lead him right to arguably his best trade as a GM. Talbot for Gus.If only he came to that realization last year…
Can we get him for a 3rd+b prospect is the key question.Maybe Toews is the more realistic target. He wouldn't cost us nearly as much as Kane would.
Agreed, and in a position of need. The man can win a FO, which is really handy on special teams. He would either play with Kap and Zucc, or beside Boldy. Either would be an improvement, even though Toews is near done.Maybe Toews is the more realistic target. He wouldn't cost us nearly as much as Kane would.
Don't trade for Fleury which means you don't re-sign Fleury which means you don't tick Talbot off which means you don't trade Talbot for Gustavsson. This one I'm cool with.If only he came to that realization last year…
Vet minimum due to our "culture" on the table?Just sign him in the offseason
Oh I didn’t mean Guerin somehow failing successfully on that. I was talking about the other waste of $3M (Greenway).Don't trade for Fleury which means you don't re-sign Fleury which means you don't tick Talbot off which means you don't trade Talbot for Gustavsson. This one I'm cool with.
aren't you guys the same ones who said we couldn't afford tarasenko but we can afford kane???????
Russo needs to leave. He has been getting worse and worse. We can only afford Kane because Russo said he was an option.
This board lives and dies by Russo's writing.
If you've ever seen what coffee can do to a coffee maker over time, imagine what it's doing to his brainRusso needs to leave. He has been getting worse and worse.
I think most people are joking about actually trading for Kane.aren't you guys the same ones who said we couldn't afford tarasenko but we can afford kane???????

What are you two on about? Russo wrote an article about potential trade deadline fits AND the Wild have been linked to Kane by a source other than Russo. We CAN afford Kane’s current contract. We CAN trade for him since we have the pieces. We absolutely cannot sign Kane to a high priced extension.Russo needs to leave. He has been getting worse and worse.
As the old joke goes, he only chokes off the ice.Kane's had a bad season, only 35 points. And he's a friggin -28. We really don't need him.

Edit: and we absolutely shouldn’t trade for Kane either. We don’t need to be the one’s jumpstarting Chicago’s rebuild
Gee willikers batman, you mean to tell me that we can’t discuss a player that the team has been linked to!?What am I on about? NOBODY was talking about Kane in this thread prior to Russo's article.
Russo says it and then everyone starts trying to justify how or why it could/should/whatever happen.
Kane is just one example - without fail if a Russo trade article pops up on my athletic feed I can come here and see at least 4 people talking about how its a good idea when they had zero thoughts on the subject prior.
I will throw a fit if we trade anything close to a 2023 1st+2023 2nd+prospect for a couple months of Kane. This draft is the one to have multiple 1st round picks.Foligno for a 1st. Greenway for a 2nd. Trade that 1st and 2nd and Peart for Kane.

Have a fun month or so, then lose in the first round.

I posted this before the season started in this thread.Someone mentioned Patrick Kane as an option to the Wild and now I am daydreaming of us finishing the season with the Kap line, GREEF, and Boldy - Rossi - Kane.

Wait till they figure out that it was Chicago’s Athletic writers doing the link first. It would stand to reason that if the teams most connected beat writer writes an article linking us to a player, we're gonna talk about that player, and whether we want to get that player or not. I don't see the problem here.
Minnesota Wild: If the Wild can establish themselves as a safe bet to make the playoffs in the coming weeks, they could be an intriguing option for Kane, who could reunite with Ryan Hartman and play opposite Kirill Kaprizov. For now, the interest might be more on Minnesota’s side than Kane’s.
The Carolina Hurricanes, Dallas Stars, Minnesota Wild, and Vegas Golden Knights have "confirmed interest" in acquiring the pending unrestricted free agent's services, reports The Athletic's Scott Powers and Mark Lazerus.
Kap for bedard is a good looking trade.
I am sort of dumbfounded on who in their right minds would pay a first for Foligno.Foligno for a 1st. Greenway for a 2nd. Trade that 1st and 2nd and Peart for Kane.

Remember when Kyle Dubas paid a 1st and two 4th for his brother? Marcus would actually help the Leaves this season.I am sort of dumbfounded on who in their right minds would pay a first for Foligno.
Makes perfect sense. Kap isn't gonna wanna resign here. Seems alot of players dont wanna sign here. To much state tax for starters. It's a trade that makes absolutely no sense for a tanking team.
