Actually, it was Barrie at 50% and Kerfoot, and there's nothing wrong with that value.

There was nothing wrong with the value initially until Barrie played like the way he did.

While certainly not one of his better seasons, he helped in more ways than people think, especially when our defense was dropping like flies. People should go look at what we would have been running during that time, had we not traded for Barrie and not had Holl emerge out of nowhere.

I said earlier, Marner, Holl + for Dubois and Savard... People didn't like that very much... but then, tonight happened. We need to play harder, and we need our top guys to be that. Even with that trade, we need more from Matthews.

What about Marner for Laine ?? A bonifide goal scorer for a bonifide playmaker. IMO we only have 3-4 bonifide goal scorers. Before Leaf fans jump on me, the Jets probably don't make that trade either.

I like Laine better than Dubois... but if we can get Savard from Columbus, that might be more important than Dubois... We really need the right Rielly partner. Maybe it's time to try Dermott with Rielly otherwise. Dubois can also play a more physical style, which we obviously lack.

What about an andersen for Larsson trade. We could run with Campbell and Dell, and the Oilers get a good goalie to pair with koskinen. The d core would be improved.

Larsson is absolutely horrendous. He's done.

But so is 90% of the team our GM constructed, so this deal has a possibility of happening.

No way to Marner for Dubois. Dubois is a 60 pt player Marner closer to 90. It's different tiers. Besides, he'd be a 3C on the leafs behind Matthews and Tavares.

Sure the cap hits but you're just kicking the can down the road to a Dubois payday.

Dubois has room to grow offensively with 30+ goal and PPG potential.

Marner, while more proven, also carries a contract that it's risky at this point. While Dubois will likely get a raise, in the flat cap era he could be had at a long term discount in the $8-$9 AAV range assuming he has a good year.

I would be very tempted to make that trade since Dubois can play LW and is likely going to be the superior centre to Tavares within a couple of years. He also brings a physical power forward presence that's much needed in the top 6.

Tavares’ long term destiny is on the wing, so I am not concerned about re-enforcing our C depth. It will need to be a priority within 2 years.
