Simplified....

1) If CBJ wins out the last three games, both Dallas and Pheonix are eliminated from playoffs
2) If Detroit gets 8 points during last five games, they take the 8th seed and eliminate Columbus

CBJ play...SJS, DAL, NSH
Det play...Van, PhX, LAK, NSH, DAL (Det must win four of these)

Pete, those thoughts are for evenings at the cottage in northern Ontario

I think at this point the Jackets better seize the ring.. win out - give themselves a chance or kick themselves in the butt for starting so God awful.

Tonight's rooting interests, SAT APR 20

Vancouver over Detroit 10pm (obvious)
Winnipeg over NY Islanders 3pm (keeping those MacKinnon hopes alive)
Chicago over Phoenix 8:30pm (would pretty much eliminate PHX)

Detroit losing today puts Columbus in tbe driver's seat as far as I'm concerned. At least temporarily.

You know... bird in the hand, bird in the bush... etc.

Jackets almost have to win out. Correct me if I'm wrong but under that scenario if Detroit goes 4-1 we lose the tiebreaker? If correct Detroit must lose at least 2 more while the Jackets win out ? The path for Dallas is much tougher needing to beat both Detroit and Columbus

One minor correction: If we tie DET in points, they only advance if they have more Reg/OT wins (non-shootout). They currently have 2 more of those than us, but it's possible they could win their remaining games to tie us in points, but get those with shootout victories. So, if they do win games, for our sake, they better be shootout wins.

If we do make it I'd love to play the Hawks.... if so and if Calvert can play it will be a good series.. I doubt we get swept this time, not if Bob plays all-star level goaltending.
