This is my nominee for post of the day (POTD). Very true statement, applies to many scenarios.

POTD...Also b/c 'Real Love' was the last song released by The Beatles with John Lennon (posthumously) singing. Lastly b/c 'Blind Faith' is a R&R blues band, an English supergroup starring Eric Clapton, Steve Winwood, Ginger Baker, and Ric Grech. -per WikiP

& now back to the GDT: I really wanna see Mo splatter Marchand.
Responding to this in a more appropriate thread, but you just look at that group and wonder what could have been. Slightly before my time, but it sounds like they rushed to go on tour before they had enough material and that kinda messed up the whole point of the group.

Assumed you kidding about the Wings hiring the ELP's keyboard player?

This is their only song that I like, but I'm not familiar with their catalog really.
im not the biggest elp fan either , like the harder driving rock of the 70s by far . that said this is a masterpeice
where it all came together

Eric Clapton's group 'Cream' was a better group (just prior to Blind Faith), check them out. Also recommend Derek & The Dominos (Clapton & Duane Allman & co.).

Blind Faith, like Traffic (also featuring Steve Winwood) are talented & listenable, but not one of my GoTo Top 25 bands. Top 30-40 probably, but mostly Greatest Hits for them.

Blind Faith only had one album. I like both Clapton and Winwood, it's a combo of musical geniuses that was too short lived.

Derek and the Dominos also had only one studio album and one unreleased. Not really a fan of Layla.

Cream and Traffic are good bands to listen to when you're just chilling.

I thought Layla was his best work, aside from Cream. There's the Layla Sessions with unreleased + studio jams etc.

Derek & The Dominos – The Lost Tapes (2012, CD)

Clapton is on a short list of musicians/bands I regret not seeing in the late 80's-00's & beyond. Rush, George Harrison!, The Kinks, The Beach Boys, G 'n 'R, Peter Gabriel, U2...though it's not to late too late to catch the latter 2. NIN & Muse are still in their prime, as is Cake, so the list isn't too long.

Star-f***er
With eyes full of gold
I walk into the straight life again
Tell me you're a star
Star-f***er
With eyes full of gold
Like the universe
I stayed out by my window
I chose to follow fate
Fate has only one thing in mind
I chose to follow fate
And fate has only one thing in mind
I chose to follow fate
Fate has only one thing in mind
Tell me you're a star
Tell me you're a star
Tell me
Don't think I wanna be alone now
(Here come the drugs)
Don't wanna be alone now
(Here come the drugs)
Yeah baby just one night
(Here come the drugs)
Oh baby just one time
(Here come the drugs)
Yeah baby just one night
Yeah, so tell me you're a star
Star-f***er
Eyes full of gold
I walk into the straight life again
Tell me you're a star
With eyes full of gold
Like the universe
I chose to follow fate
Fate has only one thing in mind
I chose to follow fate
Fate has only one thing in mind
I chose to follow fate
Fate has only one thing in mind
Fate has only one thing
Fate has only one thing
Fate has only one thing

Baby, baby, I've been so sad since you've been gone
Way back to New York City
Where you do belong
Honey, I missed your two-tone kisses
Legs wrapped around me tight
If I ever get back to Fun City, girl
I'm gonna make you scream all night
Honey, honey, call me on the telephone
I know you're movin' out to Hollywood
With your can of tasty foam
All those beat up friends of mine
Got to get you in their books
Lead guitars and movie stars
Get their tongues beneath your hood
Yeah! You a starf**ker, starf**ker, starf**ker, starf**ker, star
Yeah, a starf**ker, starf**ker, starf**ker, starf**ker, star
A starf**ker, starf**ker, starf**ker, starf**ker star
Yeah, I heard about you Polaroid's
Now that's what I call obscene
Your tricks with fruit was kind a cute
I bet you keep your p***y clean
Honey, I miss your two-tone kisses
Legs wrapped around me tight
If I ever get back to New York, girl
Gonna make you scream all night
Yeah! You a starf**ker, starf**ker, starf**ker, star f**ker, star
Yeah, a starf**ker, starf**ker, starf**ker, starf**ker, star
A starf**ker, starf**ker, starf**ker, starf**ker star
Yes you are, yes you are, yes you are
Yeah, Ali McGraw got mad with you
For givin' head to Steve McQueen
Yeah, you and me, we made a pretty pair
Fallin' through the silver screen
Honey, I'm open to anything
I don't know where to draw the line
Yeah, I'll make bets that you're gonna get
John Wayne before he dies
Yeah! You a starf***er, starf***er, starf***er, starf***er, star, whoo
Yeah, a starf***er, starf***er, starf***er, starf***er, star
A starf***er, starf***er, starf***er, starf***er, star
Yes, you are
Starf***er, starf***er, starf***er, starf***er, star
Yeah, yeah, yeah, starf***er, starf***er, starf***er, starf***er, star
Yeah, starf***er, starf***er, starf***er, starf***er, star, whoo
Yeah, a starf***er, starf***er, starf***er, starf***er
Starf***er starf***er, starf***er, starf***er, starf***er
Starf***er starf***er, starf***er starf***er starf***er
Yes, you are, yes you are
Oh, yeah, ooh
Oww
Give us a kiss
Whoo, with a twist
Ball me, girl

Ver nice. I'm not sure if anyone here can back me on this, but Karn Evil 9 was the Red Wing's intro song on their broadcasts...maybe back in the 80's IIRC.
I was today old when I found out Karn Evil 9 is 29m:37sec long.

The 1st time I heard it as a young kid in the mid 70's, I thought it was Roger Daltrey singing.

this Hilarious vid screams late 70's/early 80s. (not laughing at the lyrics/message, just the time period in our lives)

frank marino didnt have the singer or song writer to make it big time .
but old days i saw plenty of the best including carlos santana , trower ,
stevie ray , nugent , johnny winter , blackmore , and more . though i regret
missing jimmy page and dime . and i saw marino 3 times at harpo's in detroit , while
plenty of my rock fan friends were there too . and near all of us said marino
was the best we ever saw . though i add harpo's is a bar and thats when i drank
so was guzzling beer and doing shots of whiskey 20' from a great guitarist with
hot women every where so that might have enhanced my mood lmao .
ive not watched this entire vid , just the first 3:40 because i know marino
shows how talented during the 3:40 as he no doubt owns this song -

Early Joy Division!

Peter Hook and The Light will be in the Detroit area this summer performing Joy Division songs. I personally like New Order better, but Hook is my fave bass player regardless of the material he's performing.

His work on Perfect Kiss was pretty awesome.

Worst cowbell ever.
One of the best drummers ever wasted on the frog solo.

Watching (and listening) that video... it's like Barney is trying his best to f*** up the song.
