Anyone else think overdrive is going overboard with the gambling talk?
I get that with single game betting it's becoming more mainstream, but just seems they are betting everything now, and everything they talk about relates back to it.

I like the NFL but they're really going overboard with the betting talk. Half the show is now Hayes making love to the NFL. Pretty stupid since there is no local NFL team.

The problem with the broadcasts is the executives and decision making at CBC, TSN, and sportsnet. Here in Canada everything has to be second rate. American networks had Canadian talent as well as American on their playoff broadcasts and had a way better product. Problem is bigger than sports broadcasts unfortunately....

Jim Hughson- glad he is gone, but I thought he called a good game and could have been a great broadcaster if he could have refrained from providing analysis and left that to the colour commentator, and reigned in his dorky side. He just couldn't help himself from saying dorky things that took the viewer's attention off the game and put it on him. This is also problem with executives, I would have told him to cut that crap out, and I bet people wouldn't have hated him.

Sportsnet blew all their money on that ridiculous contract with the NHL. Just like the team they partially own, they had little money left for a good supporting cast. The guys in charge then told the world that they knew how to broadcast hockey games, ergo George Stroumboulopoulos. So, they not only flooded the Canadian market with games nobody wanted to watch, they also destroyed HNIC. I have to believe that Rogers probably had a major influence in the hiring of KD. He perfectly fits the Rogers profile, looks good in a suit with no talent. The good news is that everyone involved in getting the NHL contract is gone. The bad news is the guys they trained are now in charge.

Virtually no reason to watch Sportsnets hockey coverage, other than the game being on.

Everyone will be tuned in to TSN's deadline and free agency shows.
