So the Overdrive crew is back together after weeks of fill-ins (and a LOT of Feschuk ... way too much Feschuk), and what is the first thing they talk about after a very active Summer, from the Jays hot play to the Leafs' off-season to the Olympics ... You got it: Golf.

Specifically, Hayes' golf game.

Yeah, I actually turned it off after the first hour. I’ll probably listen to the podcast because I can skip around. Also, no Ray at 5 is going to suck too.

Do they have a replacement for Ray? I know he is still doing Leafs regional games on TSN but i think he said no more radio right?

That is an unfortunate loss and a tough slot to fill. The other former players all play a part on TSN radio already, so none of they will be the treat that was Ray Ferraro.

I tune out on Golf and Jays talk... as the season gets going they will refocus on NHL and NFL (thankfully for me) and the rest of the stuff should drift to the wayside. If the Jays get on a run an get in I think that deserves airtime of course... its just not for my ears ;-)

Hoping they have Johnny call in honestly. I enjoy his analysis from a former player. I'm sure once the season begins they'll have a permanent replacement.

Used to love this show obviously when it was the Overdrive guys but as mostly a leaf / hockey fan I found myself missing Leafs Lunch a ton.

I liked Andi well enough for various hits on TSN back in the day but felt a show like Leafs Lunch needed a bit more focused hockey talk of which she mostly derailed.

Interested to see who replaces her, not sure if Kristen Shilton wants that gig, shes amazing on 1050 covering leafs or if they will draw in Jim Tatti or something

Hopefully they replace her with someone good. I haven't listed to Leafs Lunch in a few years because of how awful she was.

Steve Simmons speculated in his most recent Sunday Notes it likely will be Julia Tocheri (no clue who she was prior to looking her up).

Regarding Leafs Lunch hosting duties, this is from an article I just read:

TSN Radio has not officially named a replacement, though it has been reported that Julia Tocheri, a member of the network’s youthful BarDown team, will be filling the chair this fall. It is not clear if she will have a regular co-host.

I am not familar with her at all... guess we'll see.

Why Andi Petrillo is leaving her job as host of ‘Leafs Lunch’ on TSN 1050 - The Athletic

For a long time, the Toronto-based broadcaster held three jobs on three different platforms, covering an array of different sports. She worked at CBC Sports, at a soccer streaming service, and with TSN 1050, where for five years — and five days a week — she was host of “Leafs Lunch.”

On Tuesday, she officially announced she had removed one of those jobs from her day planner. Petrillo is stepping away from the sports radio station not only to focus on her other two jobs, but also to make sure she has at least two days off each week.

“It wasn’t an easy decision, because I absolutely love hockey,” she said. “But I was just at that point in my life where it was kind of like, ‘What quality of life do I want?’”

The 41-year-old said her contract with TSN Radio expired in March, but she wanted to stay on through the end of Toronto’s playoff run. She said the station’s program director approached her to discuss an extension of her deal, but she had already made up her mind to leave.

Full story continued ...

TSN's radio talent pool is really thin anyway. They're just going to spam more feschuk, Simmons and cauz I bet.

Andi is also on One Soccer, and I think she can fill in as guest host on TSN during vacations etc.

Do either TSN or Sportsnet have much in the way of good radio talent? It's literally just OverDrive and Micallef who come to mind as actually talented and non-grating to listen to.
