Yea, agree. I can't do it. No problem with Feschuk, just exactly as you say he is 100% serious... and Hayes needs to be led in the comedy by the other two.

I normally take the summer off from Overdrive anyway, since I am neither a Jays or Golf fan that that is what they mostly talk about.

“When I am weaker than you, I ask you for Freedom because that is according to your principles; when I am stronger than you, I take away your Freedom because that is according to my principles.” ― Frank Herbert.

Not sure if it’s anything or not but I noticed Hayes’ Instagram bio has removed anything to do with overdrive or tsn1050. Their Twitter is still the same as of now, but just something I noticed while scrolling stories

Randomly that caught my attention too. Im sure he will be back… because I don’t think theres a radio show in Canada as successful as Overdrive right now. But it might be a long term branding or negotiation tactic.

He also updated it to say Radio/TV. I wonder if he got a TV opportunity elsewhere or is transitioning into the Leafs regional with TSN.

I know Hayes mentioned on air the other day he'll be on a panel for Free Agency day again, so that hints to me the tv part of the bio, and he will still be with TSN for the foreseeable future.

Gord is so serious all the time... that show is hard to take without a lighter personality.
As we noted before, Hayes will align to his co-hosts; nothing wrong with that in general but the show becomes tres serious with certain co-hosts.

Hayes should host the Leafs regional stuff on TSN. Why not. Do we really need Duthie? Maybe he can focus on something else lol
Would be nice to have actual Leaf fans working on the regional broadcasts for a changs (studio and booth).

Right.

Money has nothing to do with it.

Money often has a lot to do with life/work balance. It sounds like he’s getting the same or more money for less work which means he has more time for family. I think, reading the quotes from Ray, it’s pretty clear that money is part of the equation.

You know, I just realized that your comment could be taken one of two ways:

1) You’re criticizing Ray for being disingenuous.
2) You’re criticizing the headline creator (likely an editor) for ignoring financial motivation.

I disagree with #1 but agree with 2.

I agree.

Obviously money effects work life balance.

But to ignore money in this context is silly.

Landesberg is gone,, fascinating to see what happens in the morning slot. I’d like to see them move Hayes in there with Mike Johnson but overdrive is too strong to mess with I reckon.
Most likely they go with a “progressive” duo. If so I hope they promote Petrillo to that post, a Carlo/Andi duo would be a festival of inanity. I would at least be able to listen to Leaf lunch again after a long absence.

Is the Landsberg thing confirmed?

Love him or hate him -- and many hated him -- Landsberg had a great, lengthy career in Toronto broadcasting. Him and Connor doing SportsDesk is still the best duo TSN ever had doing their highlight shows.

I found him to be a prick and had this ego to him, but despite that, I thought he had a great voice for TV and radio, he conducted interviews well, was well versed and spoken, and was widely knowledgable.

End of an era.

Never hated him, often came across as smug despite being a decent sportscaster. As Duthie says he cultivated a certain persona,,, and it rubbed a lot of people the wrong way.

I wonder if they leave Carlo on the morning show. I never listened to First Up. But, it built a strong listener base from my understanding.

Re: Gord Miller on Overdrive. My goodness he can be dry. His formula is typically inserting a random stat in whatever they’re talking about. It’s impressive, but gets tiring quickly. I love him calling games, not so much as a radio guy.

I'm so glad Landsberg is gone. He made everything about himself. I stopped listening to his show ages ago so hopefully he'll be replaced by someone better.

Miller is just insufferable as a host. Such an unlikeable personality.
