Okay i wont put a graphic, ill summarize instead:

5V5 over 2023 and 2024:

Matthews with Marner - 2.43/points per 60

2.43 would put Matthews around 30th in the league in p/60

Matthews with Nylander - 3.25/ points per 60

Matthews with Domi - 4.93/ points per 60

Those are numbers that should be acknowledged. AM MM has been borderline BS since game 2 of their reunion

Myers has really been a pleasant surprise. And Benoit has had a nice long stretch now of solid D.

So basically when both Matthews and Marner play together they play worse together, but when their apart, both lines they play on get a boost.

That's a case of not knowing how much time is left. Don't pass wirh less than 5 seconds left. Drive the net. Make the other team stop you. Maybe you draw a call.

I don't know if Auston's in that head space tonight where he's going to make a heads up and hard play for you.

Marner’s been greasier lately and I’m here for it.
Weird over the past years Ive been saying the big thing missing from his game is he doesnt play physical and avoids physical areas.. I was laughed at, ridiculed and told i didnt know what I was talking about. Also told that hes not build for it.

Now those same posters are liking posts that say hes added a physical element to his game and playing more greasy this year?

Did you even watch him in junior?

Strangely, Marner gets a boost playing with Matthews but Matthews production goes down.

Thats how i remember the stat annyways. I could check if your interested.

Matthews plays lazy with Marner. It's better to stick him with a couple Marlies and he will pull.

You get what I mean

FTR, I don't believe I've made any comments about MM's physicality. The like from me was for a reasonably nuanced comment regarding MM. It was refreshing, considering the source.
