Yo man HF wtf man, I came here to read a forum not have my screen half obstructed by advertisements that now cover the only reason anyone comes here which is to READ f***ing WORDS. If you cover half the screen with your advertisements, how the f*** is your website supposed to serve its primary function of displaying words for people to read? As I write this, I can't even see the box I'm typing in. My f***ing goodness gracious.

It's actually ridiculous. Those ads should be banned, its bad enough the multiple x clicks at the bottom.

Cooper sounds a lot like some of the posters on here that are already whining about the officials before the series has started
He also thinks every line change that burns his team is too many men on the ice. It's lol worthy if it wasn't after every game.

Except the goalie in the opposing net has 2 recent Stanley Cups and a Conn Smythe in 2021 as playoff MVP.

Unfortunately, Sammy doesn't need to play to only his abilities, he needs to outperform his direct comparable in the the opposition net.

Therein lies the problem, as Sammy clearly enters the series as the 2nd best goalie based on past results, and needs to come out as the best to win the series.

I disagree because there are more than just goalies playing the games. On the whole, we are better. Of course in a vacuum anyone would rather have Vasilevsky over Samsonov.

Samsonov doesn't have to be better than Vasilievsky. He just can't be bad. If he puts up the same kind of performance in the playoffs as he did in the regular season...we win. It think he's the best goalie we've had since 2017, better than Anderson, better than Campbell.

My take.

Can’t let up a minute of this series. Lightning are the absolute best for years at finding a way to change a game momentum and steal a win. Head games start at the coach and go all the way down to their 6th defender faking a high stick to get a call. Cut out the bullshit and just take it to them.

Good to know. It’s a walk in the wrong direction but it’s still right within the core.

Alright we will check it out! Thanks.
A bit further but not much.

Try and sit in the bar area instead of the dining room, much better atmosphere ie eye candy!

** Blackened Shrimp Tacos are very good.

This team has made the finals three years in a row. Maybe we do roll over them, but the more likely scenario, this will be like trying to kill a wounded bear with your bare hands. I expect a lot of up and downs this series, I have massive respect for them, even though I feel we are the better team atm. Should be an epic series.
If they’re using bare hands I’d prefer the older guys versus the new dudes.

Playoff goalie stats for our goalies since 2016-2017

Frederik Andersen 2016-2017 --> 2.68 GAA, .915 SV%
Frederik Andersen 2017-2018 --> 3.76 GAA, .896 SV%
Frederik Andersen 2018-2019 --> 2.75 GAA, .922 SV%
Frederik Andersen 2019-2020 --> 1.84 GAA, .936 SV%
Jack Campbell 2020-2021 --> 1.81 GAA, .934 SV%
Jack Campbell 2021-2022 --> 3.15 GAA, .897 SV%

The only years where I can see that we've had goaltending that should have been good enough to win are 2019-2020 and 2020-2021. You can argue that the goaltending was not good enough in all the other years. Last year, if Jack Campbell was a bit better, we win.

I believe Samsonov is better than both guys. Let's hope I'm right.

Edit: I also would take Woll over both those guys.

I was very confident until I saw the GDT Leafs player comparisons and was reminded of what they once were.

really excited for this series to kick off. I genuinely think this is the most playoff ready squad that we have seen with this core group. Probably the most playoff ready squad that we have seen since the early 2000's.

It really there for the taking. It's just going to be about maintaining focus from the start of the series to the end. Absolutely no days off. You cannot expect to win in the playoffs by bringing your B-game ono any any given night. Certainly not against the Bolts. Different to years past, I really do believe we learned an incredibly valuable lesson from last years series. It's one thing to lose to CBJ or MTL, and ultimately choke in both of those series. But to have actually played a 7 game set that they can be proud of last year, and still come up short just amplifies that need to win every single battle. The margin of defeat last season could be boiled down to one or two plays if we really wanted. It was that close.

When we would get ahead in the series last year, we followed it up with a terrible start to the following game. We took a breath at the wrong time. TB will not go down without a fight, and we should not expect anything less then their best. But if we bring our best on a night in-night out basis we will have a good shot at coming through on top.

I am confident we will see a strong effort from our boys this year. Let tonight be the start of something incredible

Leafs lunch has Brian Engblom on, Lightning coloour commentator. Great conversation. Worth listening to once available to stream.

T-minus-7-hours folks!!

I informed everyone in my household that I would be having various problems with my health today.

Potentially in and out of the bathroom type thing, not making sense, etc etc.

Pay no mind.

In this case, you really want to beat the dead horse. Cause the horse might not be dead.

It's this killer instinct that puts teams away that we haven't yet seen. Hopefully this year is different. I think O'Reilly will be a difference maker in this regard.

McCauley has a history of garbage calls and missed calls that always favor the opposition when it comes to Toronto. Him and Chris Lee are the 2 officials I did NOT want officiating any of our games. He pulled the same bullshit last year, expecting the same crap from him again.

Hopefully the boys can outplay the whistles or the whistle McCauley shoves up his ass anytime the opposition commits an infraction. Not gonna lie, seeing his name has killed a lot of the hype going into game 1 for me, he loves to make the games about himself rather than the players.
