Already the 15-25 age group don't really care at anywhere NEAR they did 10-20 years ago. Shit like this doesn't help. The league needs to get its shit together.

League has no foresight. Hockey is already too expensive and inaccessible to many families, losing out to the likes of soccer and basketball. Bettman treats Canada like it will be forever fine, but shit like this very obviously turns people off from the games top product and doesn't help "grow the game" in the slightest.

In no era of the sport was that ever a "slashing" penalty on Kerfoot. It's a fast game and all but it disgusts me how overprotected the officials are from any sort of criticism every single year.

Soccer has it right, a few badly officiated games and refs are demoted to second divisions thus losing salary. These guys out here collecting a pension.

The league should be embarrassed.

The Holl penalty... just skating straight ahead, dishes the puck and runs into the guy skating opposite him in the same path. No pick, no sticking out the knee, just a straight ahead collision. 20 years ago you could afford to goto a game without it costing you a paycheck and it was not overrun with corporate suits and tax write offs.

I havent been to a Leafs game here since the 2nd last year at Rexall Place. Maybe 2012 or 2013. Just cant afford tickets anymore especially when Leafs come to town prices go up even higher and just cant afford it.

I’ve watched hockey my entire life, no matter how much the Leafs sucked.

We’re good now and I can barely get through a game even when we win. It’s just awful. I can’t even blame people who stop watching because it’s just a disgrace to the game.

There's only so much you can say and remain in good standing with the league. And even if they did, there really is absolutely no way for it to end well for us - no matter how impartial the NHL refs are supposed to be, you can never truly be impartial with something you grew up hating.

I heard it's the same crew of refs calling these North Division games all season.
