I feel like we have to worry more about Klingberg than Timmins, was a bad signing then and it'll look worse in a couple of months.

I'm not going to worry about John Klingberg until bad things happen with him. He's an impact player with a bad year and a clean slate. If he starts playing like Tyson Barrie, maybe you can worry then but I don't know if we should be concerned that a Ducks defenseman didn't look good... Hampus Lindholm didn't even look good on Anaheim.

Think he means how Spezzas agent told teams he would retire if claimed off waivers last season
Yep I got the reference. Spezza was obviously prepared to retire. Giordano may not be.

Timmins should start the regular season at this rate over Liljegren. Last game, Liljegren was on the PP and made 3 mistakes in a span of 25 seconds. Not huge errors but high risk decisions, trapping his players. Its been his downfall, when Liljegren doesnt keep it simple. Liljegren can not be in the top 4.

The problem is if you demote Liljegren at this point in his career you risk destroying his confidence and trade value... I've stated previously that I believed Timmins to be the superior player to Liljegren...
If Brodie gets hurt at all this season, Timmins might see some time next to Reilly on the top line

All other GMs if we put Timmins on waivers:

Hopefully Klingberg is okay, but if he is out for some time and can be put on LTIR, Leafs have a lot of flexibility. They can run a full 23 man roster if they choose.
My roster ends up being
Bertuzzi-Matthews-Marner
Knies-Tavares-Lafferty
Jankrok-Nylander-Domi
Gregor-Kampf-Reaves

Rielly-Liljegren
Gio-McCabe
Brodie-Timmins

Samsonov
Woll

Extras
Robertson
Holmberg

Still have over 2 million in cap space

They either don't have to waive Jones, or they could keep an extra d man.

Very interesting to see so many guys penciling Timmins in, especially after everyone was down on him after his first game.

He's got potential but I still need to see more from him before penciling him in against a real NHL lineup. There was a reason he barely played at the end of last season.

The game will be a Joe Thornton Arena in St. Thomas.

Tavares playing in a minor league rink with a bunch of hopefuls.

Is there anyone on that roster who's actually guaranteed a spot? I guess Domi and Knies and maybe Liljgren.

Maybe they're trying to tell him something?

They probably just told him that he is the captain and represents the team and it was the Kraft Hockeyville thing so he should be playing.

Best case scenario is he’s out for the season

He’s also changed the way he skates so maybe extra reps in a live game is good for him

I like watching preseason games because it's the only time I ever get to see any of the hopefuls.

Cowan looks pretty good so far. Minten too. They might make the NHL one day, they might not, I have no clue.

I don't think Robertson will though.

I think he realizes it too. Seeing him on the bench in the third period he looked almost defiant. He comes across the same way in a recent interview too: "I know my name isn't what it used to be. I don't give a f***".

I forgot how much more enjoyable it is to watch the games without the digital ads on the boards, plexiglass, and ice.

Up yours Bettman.

Now that Dubas is gone my guess is Liljegren gets waived. He's not worth anything in a trade. Waiving Giordano makes way more sense but I doubt that happens.

Gregor put in a good effort and should get a contract.

I think Buffalo gets into the playoffs this year, while Boston does not, but I'm really actually hoping it's Ottawa that makes it instead.

Power is awesome.

Go Leafs Go.
