Still have no idea why Holl hopped on early to take the penalty in the first place.

Holl didn't jump on. He was the one Nylander ran into after gliding off of the ice. That is on Nylander though... Holl was still engaged in the play. Nylander was coasting as slow as freaking possible to the bench and then didn't even pay attention to Holl. At the same time, the forward on the bench jumped on far too early.

The refs usually don't call that against other teams though. Not unless Nylander or the guy coming on play the puck, and especially not when we have control of the puck. Neither even came even close to happening, but we don't get that benefit. That is why Keefe was livid.

I'm just having trouble being interested in the regular season. This is the first season I can remember where leaf games are now on in the background as opposed to having my undivided attention.

They can still comeback, 2 goals is not an insurmountable deficit (we should know better than most)

I would say the vast majority of Leafs fans would agree with you. Even if they finished first in their division Leafs are still not a favourite in the first round.
