Naw, it was just becoming a bit of a moderation issue with some posters unable keep themselves in line, you know, kind of like how Reilly was a big baby and decided to lose control of his emotions and get himself suspended. Must be a leafs thing, idk....

To be fair, it's also just general softness.

I'm not allowed to reply because I said something about how a post was oozing with mental toughness like Rielly.

You would think a message board wouldn't be so soft.

You get kicked out for calling players soft.

COuldn't watch it live, got a dozen texts from friends and saw the EN goal and was hyped. When I got home I watched a tape.

Rielly is bitch made. Look, if we're the #1 team in the league and we gloat to a bottom feeder, sure, take exception. Heck, if Rielly even wants to do a face wash or give him a late hit, that's fine. But why tf is he going for his head? We're literally a bottom feeder, in our own barn, and having what is probably our highlight of our season, and an EN slapshot is what gets them heated? Like i said, bitch made.

.. isn't the league stance that you are responsible for your stick? "rode up" like it was a magical force. And garbage like "if it was Brady", sorry I would not be behind it. And to be fair, lots of Leaf fans are expecting and are ok with him missing some games - they know it was over over the line.

Back to this "rode up", that is garbage. I took a screen grab of the intial contact, and the right hand is right at Grieg's head, any shoulder is from Grieg twisting to minimize the hit. Absolutely aimed at the head.

You need to see the other angle. It did ride up when Grieg tried to block the cross-check with his hand. Regardless, his intent was to injure Grieg so as a bystander and not taking into account suspension precedent, this shouldnt all the sudden absolve Rielly.

What an idiot. He still can't get away with it, and never will, you just don't cross-check the guy in the face. Moron.
If he would have put his stick down, and dropped his gloves. It would have been a minor penalty.

Drop your gloves and it's fine.

I personally see what Grieg did like the bat flip (thanks NyQuil). While, I actually think it's a bit of a dick move, it's not like it was dangerous or whatever. So who cares. The response to this is to face wash the guy, not give him a stick to the head.

7-Eleven That's Hockey: Did Reaves hurt Rielly's chances of avoiding long suspension?

The Leaf Nations’s imploding. Ahahahahaha.

The Toronto Maple Leafs have a new owner and his name is Greig.

Reilly's reaction was dumb and he 100% deserve to be suspended. Listening to Reaves interview and Keefe's comments ... woww there's no words ! What a bunch of idiots ! Have to laugh (laffs) at this, it is really over the top. Can't wait for the Leafs to fall again come spring time. Love Greig getting under their skin !! Also very happy he didn't get seriously injured.

I also can’t believe Greig got away with scoring in that empty net Ryan.

What an idiot, assuming it’s not a misrepresentation of a longer quote.

Greig clearly didn’t “get away with it”.

But to compare the two actions like they are even compatible. “Get away with something like that” has nothing to do with why 44 deserves a suspension meathead.

Yorkie spells out the ingredient missing in a lot of the discussions with non-local fans... the Leafs mob buying out the joint is sooooo annoying. And the intensity of Rielly's reaction is offensive because he reacts like someone saving face in front of a home crowd.

To be clear I’d also be happy to see Greig or Tkachuk invite Rielly to dance when they play next year. For once Tkachuk might actually get a worthwhile trade off.

Press-row enforcer running his mouth to the media again.
He has to keep talking it's how he got off of robidas island

I would be surprised if it’s more than 6.

I’m guessing maybe 4? They don’t have to go big even if there’s a hearing.
Has there been a situation where there was an in person hearing and it led to less than 5 games

Friedman was saying he went back and could only find two cases of a guy getting an in person hearing and getting less than six, not sure if Spezza, wh had to appeal to drop down was counted.

The whole thing is so stupid. If Morgan wouldn't have reacted, 99% of fans out there wouldn't have even noticed it was a "disrespectful" slap shot into the net. Hell, you could argue any empty net goal with 5 second left is disrespectful to the opposition...after all, it's easy to simply ride out the clock instead from the offensive zone.

It's shades of Don Cherry crying because guys would celebrate after a goal level stupidity.
