Just thinking a bit about the wider picture here.....there has been a lot more 'big' celebrations after goals and wins the past few years. From the Canes doing their silly thing after home wins, to guys scripting celebrations after a goal to getting high fives all the way down the bench and all that...

Whatever suspension they give Reilly could set a precedent on how some things evolve in the league in the next few years. Will we see a long suspension, and the guys see a message sent that a bit of cellys and 'personality' on the ice are what the league wants, or will it go old school, and they give him a fine or a game and give a quiet nod to enforcers to punish guys who 'show off' on the ice?

Seriously. Hockey takes itself way too seriously sometimes, and it shows with how other leagues are lapping the NHL.

First, the broadcasters are all located in Toronto & they would have to put up with a lot of shit from Leafs fans who could get them fired if they don't appease them. Second, a slap shot into an empty net is rubbing their noses in it which fans love, but players hate. Third, this would have elevated the hate between these two teams except that they won't meet again until next yr & who knows who will be left on both teams. Keefe could be gone, Reeves could be gone & one of the big five could be gone for the leafs. If that happens it will be great knowing we had something to do with that leafs getting torn apart. Hopefully, Greig goes after Reilly next yr too when they meet for some pay back.
