My bad. I thought the leafs had half of their roster injured, and made the playoffs 9 consecutive seasons before. My bad. I thought the Leafs finished fifth last with Matthews after losing Marner.

Right. They obviously don't view him as a top pair guy. If they did they would've signed him.Tampa will miss him, but their top 4 are Hedman/Moser McDonagh/ Cernak. Raddysh would have been on the 3rd pair. Thats a lot of money for a 3rd pair guy.
Long term, they would have Moser on the left side with McDonagh on the 3rd pair. They are hoping D’Astous will play with Hedman.
well I hope Im wrong but this is bad. you don't give 8 years to a one hit wonderI was waiting for your take because I knew it would be bad, just didn’t think it would be this bad

Marner had utterly nothing to do with the piss poor Berube system, and the decrepit defense that Treliving created, and on top of that losing Tanev for pretty much the entire season, and Woll missing a few months for 'personal' reasons. My bad. I thought the Leafs finished fifth last with Matthews after losing Marner.
Bad idea, imo, to try and hang on to something that was never truly there. This Raddish trade and signing is first why a club like Tamps is a recent multiple Cup winner while the Leafs fail. It’s a bad trade for right now. Leafs should be building on the McKenna pick, and not adding older guys. IMO of course.Marner is old news. Leafs scoring didn't miss a beat was 2nd in the league through the first half of the year before the team decided to tank.
Raddysh has played 3 seasons, and all three of those seasons were better than Walmans career high. Just last season alone of Raddysh is better than 3 years combined of Walman. Not similar players at allFeels like the Walman deal. Doesn't become full time NHLer to mid 20s. Gets paid off a breakout year in his late 20s. Reverts back to what he used to be the following season. Expect this one to be similar.
stupid leafs, guys going to revert to what he was prior to this past season with TB. I hate to be a downer but I can't see this working out. 8 years..... guys a bum and he will be public enemy #1 by December/January
this is worse than the David Clarkson deal
OH boy. Here we go.Stammer's numbers are very little misleading.
The deal isn’t about years 7 and 8 thoughwell I hope Im wrong but this is bad. you don't give 8 years to a one hit wonder
They’re making this deal for the first 4 years, not the last 4 rightMoney and Term for a 30 year old...........time may not be his friend. Will he miss Kucherov?
Leafs had to do something eh.
I see it working out for the first 2-3 seasons.......8 years is a long time guys.
Leafs are adding Tanev McKenna Raddysh and Andrae to the roster.
We back up.
IF they get a top pairing defencemen, top 10 1st round pick in this year's draft and a player then Knies is gone.I wonder if this kills the Knies talk. It doesn't make much sense to sign a 30 year old dman for a long term deal and then trade a 23 year old power forward.
Probably simpler than changing your 9:1 ratio Leafs hate commentary sub-hobby.So in other words fix 90% of the Leafs game from last year.
Sounds simple.
I dont know but 15 of his 22 goals were primarily assisted by Kucherov including 9 out of 10 on the ppThe year before he was 38th for PPG for dmen with limited PP use.
Whats your prediction if he gets 1st PP use with the Leafs then? Around 20th in the league for dmen PPG?
I think the counter to this is that they didn't really have a chance to sign Raddysh. He only wanted to sign with one team.Right. They obviously don't view him as a top pair guy. If they did they would've signed him.

Watch the highlight package that’s been posted. Kucherovs assists on those plays are absolutely nothing but a standard pass that 100 point players Auston Matthews and William Nylander can handle. I hear Mckenna is a decent player tooI dont know but 15 of his 22 goals were primarily assisted by Kucherov including 9 out of 10 on the pp
The bigger issue is Raddysh doesn't solve their biggest issue. He's going to get abused in his own end. TB got away with it bc they were so dominant offensively when Kucherov was on the ice with him they pinned teams in their own zone
Nonetheless giving Raddysh big money seems foolish, I hope he's as good here as he was in TB but I just dont see it happening
Would you say he’s as good as he was in Tampa?OH boy. Here we go.
I guess we will see, I also dont think McKenna is going to be that good right out the gate, I think he's going to struggle abit year 1. I hope I'm wrong but I think alot of leafs fans are leaving them selves open for big disappointment.Watch the highlight package that’s been posted. I don't think anyone believes that he wouldn't want to resign in Tampa Bay.I think the counter to this is that they didn't really have a chance to sign Raddysh. He only wanted to sign with one team.
