Yikers indeed!

I love communication skills these days!

Confidence in excess to a degree where if a person really believes something, then just like Dr. Strange and his ability of incantation, simply claiming something makes it true. Yay!

Who knew that February was spelled exactly like September, and Raddysh turning 31 in September means he won’t have to celebrate it again next February!

By the Eye of Agamotto!

I’m assuming the poster means that by training camp in September he will be “30 going on 31”, meaning he will be closer to 31 than 30 and turn 31 in season.

Hoping they bounce back is fine, betting that they get 30 more points than last season to make the playoffs is a reach.
I really don't think so, this isn't a typical 78 point team. They massively underperformed last year. The Leafs have a couple superstars, some support forward pieces and are filling out their d-core with guys who can move the puck to their stars.

It reminds me of when Washington missed the playoffs in 13-14 with Adam Oates behind the bench a year after winning the division

Bob wants term, Toronto has potential in the pipeline and Binner has what, 1-2 years left on his deal?
I think we need additional upgrade to the blue line. I don’t want to pay premium prices for goaltending while the Hills and Bussi’s of the NHL continue to confirm that depth at every position and an equivalency of NHL quality goaltending appears just as good as the (Russian) outliers.

If we were positioned a little different asset wise, I could see it.

Funny enough, I think Woll is from St.Louis, or at least the surrounding area if I’m not mistaken.

Once reilly moves I could see Toronto bringing in Mario Ferraro.

That’s one narrative. Another is that they lost their second best player for almost nothing, Matthews has chronic injuries and the D is very old. The goaltending also has a lot of question marks.
I don’t think they are as bad as bottom five but I also don’t see them as a playoff lock. Too many young teams have passed them.
And I think Florida with Barkov back will also be a playoff lock.

They have a lot of ground to cover though and the division has gotten a lot stronger. This season was a bloodbath, next year is going to be worse with a healthy Florida and a Toronto mystery box.

I'm not as high on the young teams as others are, for example MTL has horrible underlying numbers and seems ripe to take a step back before they move forward

That is also a fair way to frame the narrative, we'll see who is right. It comes down to Matthews

He should be fine as a leaf. Deep effective defensive core, 2-way players, and top end goaltending will only make him and the leaf team better. Doesn’t make much difference he’s a 🐢 the leafs are known for their youth and speed.
