They got a top pairing D through his prime and only had to give up non essential assets. No blue chip or high end roster players or lottery picks.

And no, Raddysh isnt at the level of Dobson
But is Dobson a top pairing dman? He isn't right now so will he be?
I know I don't think of Raddysh as a top pairing dman.
Right now Dobson and Raddysh are not that far apart. lets see in 2 years who is better.

leaf never make mistakes just look at the past 30 years

but let's see how Radish does
Good stuff.

What was your prepared anti- Leafs comment going to be if another team acquired the most coveted UFA defenseman this off-season?

Raddysh got his payday, good for him.

It's a lot for a guy with one really good season under his belt, but he doesn't have a lot of milage on him. Could age well. Could be headed to Robidas Island in a few years.

That's why the game is played on the ice. Habs did ok with a smurf as their #1D. I think Leafs can handle a player lower down the lineup being a bit short (but very stocky).
Hey. I'm interested to see how it works out. I just wonder how much of these decisions are short-sighted fan and owner-pressured ones vs making smart decisions for down the road. I know it's a different FO but from going from almost trading your best young piece in Knies for picks and prospects to signing a 30 year old d-man with one season of production under his belt to max term is quite a switch.

Your comment presumes deficiency on the heels of the acquisition. Your above reply then presumes a neutrality of consensus opinion presuming the same thing, yet you claimed your comment was more a compliment to Moser?

Just own it, lol. Your comment reads like a shot at the Leafs first and by extension a compliment to Moser.

We have a new front office, a new coach, a new system, a 1OA coming in, and who knows what else. Emphasizing comparative deficiencies at this juncture doesn’t convey impartiality.
Jesus you’re sensitive. Lol. Im suggesting that raddysh benefited from excellent teammates in Tampa and those in Toronto, especially his future d partner, don’tmatch up. If that’s a shot at Toronto then fine take that shot

No it's not. Way more complicated than that. Also take into account you get taxed where you play so all the road game are taxed where it's played.
Not that complicated, He won't see half of that money with taxes and agent fee if the CRA get it's hands on that money.

Toronto just traded arguably their best NHL goaltender for a guy who was statistically the worst goaltender in the NHL. I have no idea what this team is doing other than making desperate moves.
Joseph woll sucks and is a huge p***y. Good riddance

The 4-5M cap space freed up will help sign tuch :) hehe

Treliving is a moron and Leafs nation are thankful every day his incompetence stopped him from making Knies a Hab.

It didn't make sense at the TDL and doesn't now. If Knies is moved the return will be a lot different.

This front office has a vision and plan

To upgrade Benoit to Andrae. Got 4 years younger and Benoit was not very good last year and has awful analytics vs Andrae who many feel is quite good and has more to give and had great underlyings.

They paid Woll to upgrade the D.

To make contracts work Leafs took back their RFA goalie who they can let walk or sign for the AHL.

And to make up the value, Flyers added a 3rd.
Benoit is capable of playing bottom pairing minutes. Andrae is unlikely to ever learn how to play well enough in his own zone to belong in the NHL. Bringing in that pylon was subtraction via addition and is exactly why hockey people should be making decisions instead of guys like Chayka who have no understanding of the sport.

At this rate, they'll be talking about what could've been forever. Knies is going nowhere.

overpayment Radish had one year that way ok, I did comment his playoff really helped him
like I said let's give me a year under the leaf to see

Yikers. He’s 30 going on 31 this September and is already slow. lol.

Darren Raddysh's primary skating weakness is a lack of elite top-end speed and first-step explosiveness. While he has good, reliable straight-line mobility and plays high-mileage minutes, his acceleration and lateral agility can leave him vulnerable in transition against fast, shifty NHL

Well I hope the vision is different than the one Chayka had in Arizona when he traded a 5th for the negotiating rights to Alex Goligoski before signing him to a bad deal.

‘This front office has a vision and plan’

To be fair you said the same about Dubas and Treleving and were one of their biggest cheerleaders for years. How long before you turn on Chayka who doesn’t have a very good track record?

I love when other teams fans try to tell Leafs fans about their players.

Benoit played a somewhat respectable bottom pairing game in the 2024-2025 season but this past year he was straight up unplayable for the majority of the year.
