Anyone have any idea as to why lighting fans, whose team is similar trying to stretch a competitive window, are almost unanimously pleased that he wasn’t resigned for this contract?
Well, how often do TB players leave and maintain their level of play?

Yikers. He’s 30 going on 31 this September and is already slow. lol.

Darren Raddysh's primary skating weakness is a lack of elite top-end speed and first-step explosiveness. While he has good, reliable straight-line mobility and plays high-mileage minutes, his acceleration and lateral agility can leave him vulnerable in transition against fast, shifty NHL

This is becoming an all time legendary off season for the leafs....

1. Chayka

2. Hiller

3. Raddy till 38 yrs old.

Happy for Raddysh!!! 1 good season piggybacking on the league MVP. Hell ya! get that money!!
Leafs need a threatening PP point shot badly, they desperately need a RH D that can move the puck.... and they paid the same money as Seattle for Montour cap% wise for Montour who had one 70 point season and a bunch of up and down seasons and Seattle players had more take hime pay due to high taxes in Ontario.

If Toronto didn't pay him, he would've certainly got it from someone else.

I made my opinion him and a long term contract clear long before his destination was known, and a part of the reasoning was that so many bolts fans were opposed to the idea of giving him a contract like this.

Isn’t it always you who says that a fans of a team know their players better than opposing fans?

I hope this works out well for Toronto.

Great guys, Raddysh brothers used to live just a few streets away from me when we were kids. Every summer they'd be out in the park training, pull ups on the soccer nets, jogging, shadow boxing etc. while me and my buddies would be doing our training

Crazy that he's gonna be playing for the Leafs now

From reading their board a lot of them want to rebuild.

Also a lot of people are completely ignorant of what salaries look like now.

Stolarz himself could lead them to the playoffs again...

Can he stay healthy though ?
That’s THE question. We looked like we were going to take Florida out with him in net.

I don’t know if he’s the same or if he can be. Ugly effects followed from the hit by Bennett.

Full transparency…I don’t think so.

To me his contract is actually pretty good for a guy that won 2 SV% titles....

But yeah sadly it could be like another Demko situation.....

look I'm not going to sit here and act like I haven't said several times that Iwasn't nervous about the contract because I was but I have to admit it's not what I thought it would be.

8 years is concerning but I thought he'd get 9+

he didn't.

I thought there would be some form of trade protection

according to puck pedia there isn't which is really surprising because that's standard for top UFA contracts

so I am slightly less concerned about this deal than I originally was.

I still want one more piece on defense, this alone is not enough but it is a big add and a big loss for TB
