Confirmed Trade: [TOR/STL/MIN] O'Reilly, Acciari, Pillar to TOR; Abramov, Gaudette, ‘23 1st, ‘23 3rd, ‘24 2nd to STL; ‘25 4th to MIN

Too much to read, but if not mentioned, Toronto will be f***ing deadly on faceoffs.

RoR is over 54% on draws. Tavares 57. Matthews 53 and Kampf 51.6.

If they stay like that, thar would build them up to 4th in the league for team faceoff wins.

Starting with the puck for a team with that skill is great and let's them go to work right away

Absolutely, Best top 3 centre group in the NHL. ROR is still elite defensively and everyone on the Blues is having a down year offensively, so i think he's gonna start scoring more now. They have a good shot at winning it all barring health. Great trade for them imo.
Everyone on the Blues had a exceptional scoring season last year, yet he finished with 58 points. It will be interesting to see.

Posting in thread #1 of a multi thread epic! LETS GO

This is the make or break deal for Dubas

A first, second, third, and fourth for a rental? That’s essentially a whole draft class of useful picks

It's spread out and they didn't give up any of their best prospects. And it's not like Dubas wouldn't be sacked if they can't make it out of the first round. He's paying in futures for his own job. And do you think MLSE will mind much if they do more than get out of round 1?

Bruh... that was 4 years ago.
Yeah I know I'm just hyped lol

Realistically ROR provides an element the Leafs desperately needed. These guys don't know how to close to save their lives and they get a guy with great experience. If he can still play at the level he did just last playoffs the center depth is the best in the NHL

You may not completely shutdown Kucherov/Point, they're 2 of the best playoff players in hockey, but ROR will make their life tough

That's definitely ridiculous. He's not that cooked.
He's pretty cooked. I've liked Gaudette and he hasn't been given a real chance to shine consistently but when he has has mostly looked pretty good. ROR is 32, UFA, and it cost a 1st to get him. Definitely has higher upside than Gaudette right now, but I'd wager good money he's not even in the league 3 years from now. I'm a bit higher than most on Gaudette, for sure. But he didn't cost a 1st in one of the best drafts of all time, which is a pretty insane overpay for a UFA who is declining hard and fast.

Good thing the wild traded Fiala so they could use their abundance of cap space to to collect late round picks.

His slow skating didn't stop him from ending Boston's top line in the cup finals

(though Kucherov is an all time playoff performer so I expect him to still do well lol)
ROR could be a very nice addition, health permitting, but thinking the 2023 version is close to the 2019 version, it would not lead to a pretty comparison.

Leafs get told they need grit they add grit people say it's the Foligno deal.

Leaf fans try to do trades on here, people say our 1st is basically a 2nd and not worth enough. We move it suddenly we overpaid.

Great deal.

That center depth is insane even if RoR isn't having a good season he is the best 3rd center you can ask for and the Leafs gotta advance in the playoffs this helps doing that I get it.
