Great deal for the Leafs, still missing a goalie and potential upgrade over Kerfoot but it makes them better without giving up key assets.

So the Leafs have spent Dermott, and 3-2nd rounders and didn't hardly move the needle at all? Right?

Kind of a waste of picks for the Leafs honestly but at least Gio has experience

So the other 4th rounders on that team are now worth a 1st also? Sean Farrell?

I mean, he's a point-per-game player in the NCAA as a freshman, with elite underlying numbers.

... and he's 6'3." That is a tantalizing mix of size and skill that is highly, highly valued in the hockey world. He'd absolutely go in the 1st round in a redraft.

Dubas sheds multiple picks for old man Gio and a 4th liner, and Leaf fans predictably come out of the wood work acting like they've just added prime Scott Neidermayer and Guy Carbonneau. Nick Foligno trade version 2.0. At least Dubas didn't blow a 1st this year for another one and done postseason.
No one said anything like this. You guys come in here and make shit up with these wild statements about Leafs fans and then you all laugh and like eachother's posts as if it actually happened. You're all so fixated on Toronto, it's hilarious.

Plenty of non-Leafs fans are saying it's a good trade for the Leafs.

But that's the point. It wasn't just two 2nds and a 3rd for Giordano, they also threw in a useful player in Blackwell. Plus they retained 50%. Both of those should have value, so it seems like Francis instead took the kind of value if neither Blackwell nor retention was included.
I'm pretty sure the ask of a 1st for Giordano was accounting for 50% retention. I think two 2nds was a slight overpayment for Gio at 50%, and a 3rd an underpayment for Blackwell. Basically, the Leafs do fine, but isn't great value like you're making it seem.
