Decent trade. Dubas really wanted to keep the 1st to get Varlamov
We aren
Oh I'm aware that anyone who joined the leafs see their perceived stock sky rocket.

Truth is the leafs have such few prospects that anyone remotely decent is overhyped.

Look ar Robertson. Wasnt long ago leaf fans were trying to convince everyone he was better than Caufield.

Props to Knies for having a good year though.
Now you’re just exposing what little you know. 😂

Francis doesn't seem very good at this "trade negotiations" thing.

Francis: "We want a 1st for Giordano"

Dubas: "We'll give you two 2nds"

Francis: "Add a 3rd and we'll throw in Blackwell and retain 50% on Gio"

Dubas: "Uh ... oh okay, that works too.

I like it, we have one of the best LD groups, Rielly/Giordano/Muzzin, all top 4 guys. I don't know much about Blackwell but from what I read he seems promising. The price isn't too high either. two 2nds and a 3rd seems fair.

Wow....what a non impact move! I'm entertained!

I live in GTA and didn't dare put a Habs flag on my car. This time around, after a first round exit, I'm going to hang a Leafs flag upside down...

The best thing about this deal is that Keefe will probably have to play Gio on the first line, similarly to Jumbo Joe last year....

I have to give it to Dubas though, he has guts if he goes into the playoffs with that Goaltending...

Dubas fleeced this one. Beauty.

I think it's pretty even, both teams got what they wanted I suppose, Giordano will help a lot, leadership wise, and he can still play, even at 38, Blackwell may be a late bloomer, may benefit from playing with actual talent, or he may go back to where he got from pretty fast. Seattle getting 2x2nd + 3rd is a nice return for that.

Personally I feel like TOR got great value here, even if their adds aren't as substantial as teams around them.

If they would have just got Gio for that package it would be a little steep, but getting Blackwell too is smart.

Hold on I gotta crank call Ottawa and Vancouver to make the salary cap work. I hope they don’t hang up on me.
