Toronto
Hmm

So
Tor: 2x 2nd and Dermott for Gio & Blackwell
Van: Hamonic for Dermott
Ott: 3rd for Dermott
Sea: Gio & Blackwell for 2x 2nd

Basically if Francis demands the package Toronto actually paid, he would have an extra third by flipping Dermot to Ottawa.? Doesnt that sound like Francis missed a third here?
Ottawa traded a 3rd for Hamonic. Unless we've cloned Dermott in the last 24 hours.

Toronto fans: No way we trade Knies (recently drafted in the 2nd round).

Same Toronto fans: we only gave up two 2nd rounders? What a steal!
Yup Knies turning out to be better pick than half the 1st round so far. Was a crazy pick. The reality of the unpicked 2nds is that they have like a 10% chance of being regular NHLers

I actually think this is a decent trade for both parties. I don’t think Toronto will regret this. They are in win now mode and there window is closing with each year. However, getting a goalie is more important to the Leafs than this move.

It looks like Dubas did not get fleeced so huge win for the Leafs.... Adding Gio with that goaltending on another hand is a bandaid at best.
Yeah, still a tier below the contenders, but cant fault Dubas for trying to keep up in the arms race.

You realize players often improve from their draft position, right? The Leafs also drafted Dermott in the 2nd round and he was traded for a 3rd round today. Knies' stock has increased since last summer.
Oh I'm aware that anyone who joined the leafs see their perceived stock sky rocket.

Truth is the leafs have such few prospects that anyone remotely decent is overhyped.

Look ar Robertson. Wasnt long ago leaf fans were trying to convince everyone he was better than Caufield.

Props to Knies for having a good year though.

Good return for Seattle, good players for Toronto. The Kraken are building up a lot of picks from players they were going to lose for nothing and that should given them plenty of room to be busy at the draft on the trade front and/or to build up their prospect pool.

Vancouver and Ottawa should have hung up the phone on Toronto. How’s this even worth the time picking up the phone and listening to a 4 hour conversation between 4 different front offices.
