Yes, 1 year,Just the one year, eh?Definitely lower in cap hit than I would have expected.

So the Engvall, Mikheyev, Tavares, Nylander, Holl, Brodie, Muzzin, Lehtonen, Barabanov, Thornton, Simmonds, Spezza, and Vesey deals all bad?I think this is the third contract that Dubas negotiated well. Kapanen and Johnsson were the others.
I'm happy that he's improving.
It is indeed a good contract, and i expect Travis to evolve into a bonafide Top 4 defenceman very soon, and at the very least he will be top 6 in our roster. He is still young and has room to improve upon his game.Great contract, is Holl 1.1 million a year better? Nope, dump him.
It was said that Dermott would be playing his off side this season. Seemed like a off the wall comment at the time with all the right side tightened up already. Holl is a decent contract. There is nothing wrong with it. I like him for most partGreat contract, is Holl 1.1 million a year better? Nope, dump him.
I don’t know what i like anymore with the depth we added. Not nice of you to neglect Liljigren, not nice at all.Great deal
On capfriendly I always signed him b/w 1.2-1.4 for 2 years. Like this deal. Dermott gets to show how good he really is while making the minimum he could make.
Hope we run
Rielly-Brodie
Muzzin-Dermott
Lethenon/Sandin-Bogo/Holl
Next year
Lilijgren is a really solid prospect just not sure where he plays? I dont want him and sandin both playing together. Both too young and need a veteran type guy to play with. If lil was LHD I'd say swap him /sandin/lethenon every few games. But as a righty I dont thin he is experienced enough to play with a younger/inexperienced player right now. I hope he has a big training camp and takes a spot from say HollI don’t know what i like anymore with the depth we added. Not nice of you to neglect Liljigren, not nice at all.
Know what struck me... Liljigren is stagnating and needs to wake up. Same thing Gauthier did, got comfortable. Not good to get Comfortable. Gauthier not signed at 6’5” and almost 240 pounds, good on faceoffs and decent devensivly while they are adding GRIT. If goat doesn’t get that message he really should find another career and he didn’t really care. He should be insulted. Liljigren might want to take notice and step out of his box
If Dermott proves he is a Top 4 D, they sign him to an extension next summer and find a way to protect him.
If not, he will be playing Seattle.

However, asking to dump Holl, a RHD that formed a good shut-down pair with Muzz, is a harsh take. Unless an upgrade to Holl is to be acquired, he remains an important part of our blue line with the added bonus of having a manageable cap hit on our payroll.

Leafs are 1.1m over the cap and paying 1.2m to Uncle Phil in dead cap space.
He needed a big one and he hit a 3 run shot. Would be a grand slam with Weeger but whatever.Amazing offseason by Dubas
Dubas deserves a ton of credit, but having Pridhim who wrote the CBA helps a lot.Dubas gets an A for this offseason. He maneuvered the flat cap like a pro.
Seems like Dubas has been decent/great on every contract except Marner and Matthews.
