Man, the gloating from Sens fans with other Canadian fans piling on is annoying as f***. Can't wait for these p***yes to go quiet during the season.

Nah Gustafson is a minor league guy

No, but the difference isn't massive. My point is the Leafs could've done something to beat that measly price

I don't think Gustavson is as bad as you think, I see lots of Sens fans saying they aren't too happy.

So here is the situation.

- Ottawa has to pay 25% of Murray's salary and give a 3rd and a 7th pick to give away a player for nothing but cap space.

- Ottawa trades a younger cheap goalie for a pending UFA goalie who is making $3 million with a $3.67 million cap hit.

Leaf fans - Ottawa is genius, Dorion swindled the Leafs.

Me:  :loony:

Lol they got him for Gustafson
What did the Leafs pay again? I forget.

You're missing the part where Gustafson won't amount to much and Talbot is significantly better than Murray, and I don't even like Talbot.

You're also missing the part where our boy Dubas was the sucker to take that contract for only a 3rd

He might be ok, but there's a reason he was their #3. My point is dipshit Dubas could've easily beat that price

Talbot is average, I am not happy with Murray, Talbot wouldn't have done much for me either.

Man, this just keeps getting more bizarre. Talbot should always have been a target.

I'll put it this way so you can understand

The sens traded a very low rent goalie for a guy that made last year's NHL all star game

We're paying 1 mil more a year for a guy who no one picked up off waivers

It really does seem like they are making this up as they go along.

Yeah this just makes less and less sense

Did Dubas want to go for the home run with Murray's potential upside? Sure there's a chance he returns to form and becomes elite, but there's so much risk and the overwhelming likelihood is that he won't

And here with Talbot we could've had a solid 1A who gives you .915 goaltending for 40+ games. Pair that with someone like Samsonov and you have a solid duo

It's the curse of being a Leafs fan. Last year it was Doomsday because Leafs lost Hyman, Bogosian, Andersen and Foligno. They surprised the world by getting record points, often with shaky goaltending.

Then it was "well they will lose in the first again", that came true sadly. It really shouldn't have.

I try to keep the faith with Dubas, he's at least working hard and never content. He certainly isn't shy about rolling the dice. Believe me, paralysis is worse.

I'd rather try Woll than Samsonov... he is a career .902 so far...
