Not sure it makes a difference.....Malgin is gone anyway. Hunt may not get claimed, but if the whole reasoning for the trade was that Malgin would have been claimed, then this is a bit of a moot argument. They probably would have had to waive Malgin eventually once bodies start returning to the lineup. He would have easily been claimed.
This way we get someone that plays hard and can be brought up and down through waivers without really having to worry about him getting claimed.
A boomer in todays definition is a mentality, not necessarily associated with age restrictions.
Ah so it was mostly a matter of get something rather than nothing. I get that they want to see more of Anderson too that it does make sense. Also adds size to the roster/bottom 6 if needed.Hunt was cleared from waivers and Malgin wasn’t. Jarnkrok came back so Toronto had to send someone down. Instead of losing Malgin to waivers they traded him
I wondered about odds of Malgin waivers versus Hunt.
Could also be a favor to Malgin and of course Hunt is from Cranbrook so part of the deal with Vancouver.
I thought if you paired him with someone who had a nice shot (like Jarnkrok) you could have potentially had a decent depth scoring lineDon't like this deal. Liked malgin. Thought he added skill to our bottom 6.
idk, I don't think we really need more defense at the expense of offense but obviously there will be more moves at some point
I just find it unnecessarily polarizing. Like our new age GM brought in a completely unremarkable depth player on his own accord and that somehow is an invitation to take a potshot at someone that doesn’t really exist.
prob is he didnt add any points to it lol.Don't like this deal. Liked malgin. Thought he added skill to our bottom 6.
What does that even mean?
