Hyman provided little more than bunting, if any and the rest are all net positives. That’s just a blindly biased post.
That was a starting point, do you want to go over Andersen vs Mrazek? We could do this all day...

I don't see it that way. You don't simply "add" Hyman to the "out " ledger and score it an "L".

Hyman got more than Bunting, Kase, and Kampf (possibly Ritchie) combined. If we keep Hyman we get none of those guys and probably have to move someone else out to be able to have a 21-man roster.
Hed have signed cheaper here, but that term will be painful

How can a staff get it so wrong though? I get it if you sign a UFA and budget for 30 goals and settle for 20 on a down year. But how can our two bigger UFAs go from July 1 to waivers like that in season? That’s not typically what happens in other cities.

is that because those GMs are too proud to admit their mistake or because they aren't as bad of signings?

Foligno is the first example that comes to mind.

Can I reference you to the 2016 free agent group to start?

We can work to the present date from there.

Actually… lets just do the goalies from last year.

1. Ullmarl lost his job to a rookie
2. Dreidger fell on his face
3. Grubaurer fell on his face
4. Mrazek fell on his face

The only guy who didn’t flop was Anderson and yet he was out again in the playoffs.

Foligno is ridiculously bad but I think Boston just eats it to avoid further problems.

Kudos to him for rectifying his mistake at least and realizing it. 13 spots ain't a bad drop. Let's see what else he has in the bag.

I am also curious if the Blackhawks gm did a bit of a favor due to the leak to the press commentary.

I'd love if someone could put down how/why we acquired Mrazek,

Who were the goalies going out.

I'm not even sure what I'm trying to figure out here,

But I just know it was an instant bad signing by Dubas, and he's fixed that problem by trading down in a very unpredictable draft, and when Bettman was saying the trade, as soon as he said "Marazek" I got up and cheered like we just landed some huge player in a trade, yet we were getting rid of a boat anchor.

We need better goaltending but we also don't need to be impatiently desperate IMO.

Honestly if I go back in my mind and think about it, I remember thinking why didn't we sign McBackup for another year and go from there?

This seems like a really bad off season to go goalie hunting, I hope Dubas tries something else like bring some guy from overseas, let our Marlies guys have a go, etc.

Who knows what's about to happen though. I just hope it isn't removing one dumb goalie signing to add another.

Dubas has spent a lot of pics rectifying his mistakes, this is becoming a regular occurrence.

Dubass getting praise for making this trade meanwhile he's the dummy who signed him to that contract

Go figure!
Right????

Its like going to someone’s house for a party and you get hammered and puke everywhere and then you get credit for picking up the mop and cleaning it up. Lol.

Why? Good value to clear that cap space.
Another bad signing that puts us out of the first round maybe?? If we don’t get a good player at 38, and we end up missing out on a star player at 25, how is this not a terrible deal?

Didn't we have the most amount of picks in recent times before the last two years? I can't recall and don't remember but IIRC in the draft thread that was the case.

The biggest mistake IMHO even more than mrazek that irks me is Foligno...that one...that just plain hurts.

....that's literally how the "out" works. You're making up your own rules now to cover up mediocre asset flow. The mrazek trade in isolation is good, but overall asset management remains mediocre and nothing worse praise.
