I’m going to get crucified for this but if he’s regressed to basically the premium deluxe version of Holl that’s not a bad fit, we’ve been lacking guys that take away space through the NZ and force a slow slog of a game. McCabe and Tanev are great in the D-zone but the rest of them need someone that denies a 15 foot wingspan and gives the forwards time to get back.

McCabe-Tanev tends to get the important minutes.


Hopefully Rielly-Carlo meshes well because a lot of the Leafs' hopes rest on Mo playing at his peak....which he has been very, very far from this season.

I literally just compared it to the Manson trade. Big physical #3/4 right handed dman that can PK. Regardless of what you say about him he is clearly a better partner for Rielly than any of Timmins, Benoit, or Myers. And it allows them to move OEL back to his natural side

He's started 20-25 less games than anyone who is realistically in contention for the Vezina - which is what you originally claimed.

It's nothing like the Manson trade imo. Manson was still a very good shutdown D when he was moved. Outside of being physical I'm really not sure what Carlo does well anymore.

Also Carlo is closer to a #6 than a #3. I'll meet you in the middle and call him a #5 who suppresses offence at an average level, and contributes nothing offensively or to transition play.
