I hope we don't induct Tommy Phillips and pan Frank McGee.

Phillips is an ATD darling because of his defensive wing role in team building. McGee is a legendary Stanley Cup dynasty top player who played the deep position of center and the HHOF original class inductee retired early, about equivalent to the modern career of an Orr in terms of relative length of career.

The center position wasn't as "deep" then when the rover was still around. Doesn't mean centers then were necessarily bad defensively (though they probably could be, on a case-to-case basis), but in the case of the Silver Sevens I think you had Harry Westwick doing most of the laundry.

I'd love to have defensive specialists, but I barely have room to squeeze in Lemaire & Alfredsson!

If we made it the top 250 instead of top 200 I'd be able to accommodate a couple.

I was perusing the Top-100 threads in order to help me build my new list. Now up to #85. My first player who missed this list is at #69. No skaters yet, though I suppose I'll rank one before #90.

Also, I strongly suggest against using the pronoun "I" to refer to your avatar if ever your player is being discussed.

However you submit them is fine, since I’ll just use a delimiter in Excel.

is the standard I usually use, since it helps me check if I’m missing a number somewhere.

I haven't tried doing this on here before, but would the formatting of the Excel file I'm using translate if I copied and pasted my list from it? I've got it arranged in four columns of 55 players each, and it is numbered.

That would probably paste as a grid. Should be fine.

On a more serious note - I've been keeping up reading the thread but haven't had time to actively engage much. I still want to try and participate and will do my best to finalize my list by December 18th. Do we know how many participants we have yet?

Not sure how many, but I hope it's at least 25 folks to get 25 different perspectives.

I'd prefer a Franz Kafka novel. A profile of each player based on which insect they most resemble, followed by an incomprehensible (and largely fictitious) list of anecdotes, concluding with an unnecessarily harsh sentencing.

Or go full Honoré de Balzac with about 300 pages per player, including 40 pages of details about the skate laces of Hooley Smith. In the end, everyone will brag about reading each and everyone of your books, while omitting to mention they wouldn't remember a single thing out of them.
