Eh, real tight window this year for scouting/coaching and all and it's just hitting right now or about to...in a normal hockey year, I wouldn't have had nearly as much of a problem...

Plus, I only built the flimsy beginnings of a watchlist...it's not fair to do it half assed...

Make sure you put them in an order that makes sense to you, figure out the details afterwards. That's quite a bit what we'll all end up doing.

What’s wrong with some of you? Kariya was an incredible player. For my money, I’d rather have him on my team than Bure (though Bure absolutely deserves to be on the list as well).

The more I read this thread, the more I think I need to submit a list to help balance some of the wackiness I am reading.

Honestly, there are some posters who just vastly overrate Bure for various reasons.

Re: an earlier response to me - I don't really care about Bure vs Gordie Drillon. I will rank them quite close to each other (Drillon with better stats but more help from his center).

But I will definitely have Bure closer to Kariya than to Lindros.

Lindros is a fringe top 100 player, so Bure (like Kariya) has to be quite a bit behind him, right?

I'll send a list within the week-end, if that's allright with @quoipourquoi

I know I had time, but wasn't sure if I wanted to participate, so I procrastinated.

I have a halfway decent list of 220 players ready to go, but I (thankfully) am unexpectedly busy at work this week and would prefer to have just a few days to tweak it.

Maybe we should let everyone have until Christmas to submit their lists? Would rather see more lists and more variety, which makes this more fun and a better testament on how this section rates various players.

Was this footage shot with 35mm film?

It's a bit disingenuous to imply that there's only valid/reasonable assessment of Bure & overrating. You have half the main board claiming every goal he ever scored was through lazy cherry picking, which I know you know isn't true.

Bure's international goal scoring feats always seem to be forgotten.

World Juniors - 27 goals in 21 games

Olympics - 11 goals in 12 games

World Championships - 4 goals in 6 games

Are you sure you know what the word "disingenuous" means? Because I could argue that it's "disingenuous" to rate Bure significantly higher than other offensively oriented wingers with similar numbers just because he played for one's favorite team...

But maybe it's best not to get personal....

I just finished making my list after a sprint to the finish line but I will take some more time to look over it now that the hard deadline has been pushed back.

I have a list almost ready to go. As usual it feels like trash that I will regret later.

And that's not really a bad thing.

I'd rather get MORE opinions in Round 1. If anyone does anything "weird," the screeners are there to ask if it's intentional.

Round 2 is where precision matters.

I second this. There's only so much information that one person can have in their head at a given time. If someone ends up voting exactly the same way in Round 2 as they did in Round 1, I'm suspicious that they haven't really paid attention to the discussion threads.

The main point of Round 1 is simply to set the agenda for Round 2 discussions. That's where the real work happens. Not to say the initial lists should be shabby, but there are declining returns in spending a lot of time on them.
