Two smallish puck movers, including one who is playing on his off side is not a good recipe, IMO. They get killed along the boards and do not emerge from the corners with the puck. Plus the front of the net becomes an issue. Sure once they have the puck, they are great. But retrieving it against a team like the Blues or Colorado would be an issue.
You might be right, but as I said, it never happened while they were together. They handled their time together better than any other pairing we've had in a long time.
For playoff hockey, I would much rather have those types of guys paired with the Troubas of the world as well. But the regular season is a different beast, and if we can score more goals than the other team in one game, that is more important than who slams who into the boards more often. And ADA-Fox would outscore opponents like it was what they were born to do.
edit - and really, if there are two or three teams in the league that may be able to exploit them as a pairing, why would we not let them dominate against the other 28 or 29?
