For those unable to watch the broadcast, the Burns interview:
Happy birthday
- Thanks
What have you done physically to be so successful this late in your career?
- Routines are pretty big for me, it's evolved over the years, found what's worked for me
- Worked with some great strength guys - called out the SJ, Minny, Carolina guys by name
- Being able to watch guys - named Thornton, Marleau as instrumental on and off the ice
- Preparation
- Relaxing and enjoying it - mentioned the outdoor game
- Loving the little things - the hard work, running into Tripp in the morning, coffee and stick tape sessions, talks before the game, hanging with the boys
What kind of goals are you setting at this point in your career?
- Doesn't really set goals in terms of performance, but takes pride in being able to play every game
- This mindset has helped me over the years. Don't look at the schedule, just get out there every day.
- Can't say enough about the guys here. It's been a great energy boost.
- Enjoys the work, enjoys the young guys here. They're "savages in the gym".
- Preparation wise, post-game recovery wise, it's been good to be around these guys to force him to keep up
- It's been a lot of fun here. He and his family have been blessed to be here.
