I was dead convinced that Magnus Kahnberg was the answer to our Top 6 until he was a throw in to the Doug Weight deal. Niklas Nordgren as well. Tommy Westlund was just waiting for his moment to really elevate his game.
I honestly thought Mike Zigomanis was going to be the perfect 2-way center.

Don't forget our 2011 All Star Jamie McBain.
This motherf***er right here. He had the talent, just did not give a f*** about being a pro athlete. And it showed quickly

Tommy Westlund is still one of my favorite Hurricanes. No idea why I liked him so much as a role player in his short time here.

Over the past 3 seasons, the Canes have a .721 points percentage. That's tracking to be the best 3 consecutive season stretch post-lockout. I should note that sample size varies; there's possibly some bias towards teams in the shortened pandemic era. Still, the club exceeds all contemporaries. Other .700 club members:

05/06 - 07/08 Detroit - .715
17/18 - 19/20 Tampa - .712
18/19 - 20/21 Tampa - .709
19/20 - 21/22 Colorado - .704
20/21 - 22/23 Boston - .704

No, you've got it wrong.

That's a ratio, not a percentage. If that 0.721 was a percentage, i.e., under 1% of the points available, it would be a pace for 0-81-1 seasons, and clearly the Canes have been better than that, even much better.

Leave them Americans alone, they measure things by feet.

"Although the statistic is called a "percentage", it is often given as a decimal, in the same way as a batting average in baseball. Thus, .933 means a goaltender saved 93.3 percent of all shots they faced. In international ice hockey, a save percentage is expressed as a true percentage, such as 90%."

Whoever wrote that seems to be equating "a decimal" with a ratio...

But awright, I'll leave their feet alone. Did you that know until recently they had two feet?

Ok, now not only are you trying to be way too “well actually” about this whole pointless situation, but you’re flirting with being wrong about it. A 5:8 ratio can be expressed as a decimal in the format .625. That’s a pretty standard description, don’t think I’m breaking any new ground there…

Yes, we are all aware America has a diabetes problem.
