Even if you did already have it, lots of people have gotten it twice, and there are several different strains. This ain't chickenpox where you get it once and you're done for life.

it's unbelievable to me people don't understand this by now. It's been a damn year we've been talking about this virus and there are still so many widely believed misconceptions.
People may be done with ‘Rona but ‘Rona ain’t done with them...I’m guessing folks will learn the smart way or the hard way.

There's been some debate in the medical community about whether people have actually gotten it twice or if there's been recurring symptoms among some people with the same strain. So we actually don't know for sure if people have gotten it twice or if they've been feeling some rebound. Multiple strains have been found but the vaccines are apparently quite effective with the vast majority of them. So I think it's best to say that we don't know and live our lives instead of letting some virus rule over us. If we're not careful, it's easy to do the latter.

I’m hoping there will come a time we can safely walk around in public with our masks below our nose...:D

I'll be "done with the 'Rona" two weeks after I have my second vaccine. I'll go and do what I want then, and not until. I waited for a year; I can wait another month.

But I will still wear my mask when asked, at least until there's strong evidence that vaccinated individuals cannot be carriers, because the mask was never about me; it was always about other people.

GTFO with your logic and general decency.

I can't think of a successful vaccine that has not protected others from getting a virus, unless those others are anti-vaxxers in a measles outbreak, which in this case, they're on their own. So unless the conspiracy theorists are right about the vaccine being a false flag operation to spread computer chips to brainwash the public, I think we're alright to take the masks off for good after the 2nd shot.

A few thoughts.

I am vaccinated. Thank God. Was part of the Pfizer trial. My wife and I did a vacation to Tampa recently and did an indoor cruise. She isn't vaccinated, but we think we dodged COVID throughout, through some luck and some careful maneuvering. It was so nice to do some normal human things like hang out with a buddy, watch a Boltz game at Sparkman's Wharf (outside on a screen), do a 2 hour cruise, and go to an aquarium. We were masked all the time indoors, but we had fun. I can't wait until we have herd immunity, which it sounds like we'll have this summer.

Only watched the 3rd. Really nice hockey by our guys. It seemed Dallas would throw a lot on net in the 3rd, but Petr was equal to the task. Honestly, even though it was Petr's first game in ages, I felt WAAY more confident with him in net during the empty net sequence than with Reims or Ned. He is our starter, and I don't think that's debatable.

We deserved the win from everything I read.
