Its going to be weird if US viewers go from NBC and fox broadcast schemes to ballys and ESPN without any continuity in the space of a few months

What's your opinion on the new Bally Sports scorebar at the bottom of your screen? (this screenshot is from FS West, but the Canes have the same)

I've never understood the use of a scorebar at the bottom of the screen in hockey. The top of the screen is the deadspace in this sport. Having a score bug that blocks any part of the ice is a downgrade for me.

The fact it's actually larger is an additional problem, but I could handle it if they were covering more dead space. I'd rather have a large banner over the crowd than a smaller banner over the ice.

Right now, we have a larger banner over the ice.

Yeah, I will continue to follow the guidelines....doesn't mean I'm any more comfortable though. Some of it is just selfish....I wear glasses and cannot, for the life of me, consistently find a mask or the right positioning so that my glasses don't constantly fog up. I pretty much take them off when I'm in a store and such, only pulling them up when it's absolutely necessary.
I also wear glasses, check out masks by BioSkin. Pre-pandemic they specialized in braces and the like. They offer masks with a nose bridge, occasionally I have to adjust the mask but for the most part they’ve been very solid. They also offer a 2 layer mask with a filter pocket. Can’t recommend enough. Even got my mom hooked on them and she’s a school nurse, she gives them to teachers in her school since they offer “cute” patterns.

My first visit to Japan many years ago, I asked one of my Japanese colleagues why some people wore masks in public. He told me they usually, it's because they are doing the polite and respectful thing because they have some sort of sniffles, cold, cough, or other ailment and are trying not to spread it to others and some wore them to protect themselves during flu season as well. He went on to say for some younger people, it's become some of a "status symbol", but the genesis of it was reducing spread.

For me, wearing a mask wasn't a hard thing to do. I'm a woodworker who has dust allergies, so days where I spent many hours in a workshop, I would have a N95 mask on the full time I was there, sometimes 8-10 hour straight. Same goes with bad grass/plant allergies. When I'm mowing, brush hogging, etc.. at our farm, I'll have a mask on the full time as well.

In all seriousness, I am diligent in my mask wearing, so I don't want folks to think otherwise. I will say, however, it is annoying.

However, I was going to ask @Boom Boom Apathy the question that @raynman answered. My guess is much of my annoyance would go away if I didn't have to constantly adjust and find the happy medium where fogging of my glasses wasn't a problem.

That said, I too, don't wear the mask for me; I wear it for others so that I won't be part of the problem (and do my little bit for the solution).

One week from today and I'm fully vaccinated! :thumbu:

It f***ing sucks. Not only do they clog up the entire bottom of the screen, they have scores from other f***ing sports ticking across the bottom. It's 2021, if I want to see that score of the Phillies/Braves game, I'll check my phone.

I buy "anti-fogging" goggles (mowing) /safety glasses (woodworking) to use. The goggles work great, the safety glasses are kind of so-so. I don't need to keep the glasses on for very long though. If I'm running something through the table saw, for instance, I'm usually only cutting for a min. or two at a time so can remove the glasses when not actively using equipment.
