You're whining about Caps fans defending Wilson. That little story pretty definitively says that it's hardly confined to them.

It's a stupid line of attack you're pursuing when your own fans have defended dirty plays with pretty ridiculous excuses themselves.

And while you're all jacked up over what fanbase gets to say what to other fanbases, there's a player this conversation is about that is still carelessly endangering other players with his actions. That seems more important.

Oh wow, you're totally right that one team that has a losing record and the same amount of points as another team is "head and shoulders" above the other team.

Lol when the Caps lose in the 1st round to the Bruins again this year, I wonder what excuse you'll give for the Caps being "the best team". At least I can admit my team is flawed and they're capable of doing wrong, which you seem incapable of.
Caps have beaten bruins like 20 of last 25 games.

Losing to bruins in first rd again? Last time they played in first rd caps won. Figures you don’t know that or facts tho. Typical pens fan just assuming things when Crosby/Malkin are 1-7 last 8 playoff games and they have 4 points each in last 8 playoff games. Yikes.

They are better. By far. Pens are not a threat in playoffs any more. They’ve been irrelevant since caps knocked them out three years ago. Since then they lost to Montreal in a play in round 3-1.

pens are 1-7 in last 8 playoff games with Malkin having 4 total points in those 8 games as well as Crosby. They are done and not built for playoffs these days.

sorry caps are still a threat/best team in division AGAIN. You guys are def losing to Boston or Islanders

Let’s make a complete idiotic statement and then back track to years past where the Penguins don’t have the same players coaches or management and draw conclusions of what will happen this year from it.

Hey, the Capitals went 8-67-5 in their inaugural season in the 70’s. They are definitely getting swept this year.

Here's the thing... been reading this take for 8 years and yet all that seems to happen is his PPG goes up every year.

You are lying to yourself if you actually believe your team, and 30 other teams would not take him.

Legitimately what are the knocks against not taking him?

He's too physical? Okay, that's not unique

He makes poor choices that result in penalties? Also not all that unique

When people come into these threads and they're like "Why can't Caps fans have a reasonable discussion" but in that same breath they're like "My team would never take that scumbag" it reeks of such a disconnect from the game.

I will say it one more time, and it's objectively true. 31 other clubs would take Tom Wilson in a heartbeat and it's not even debatable. If you disagree you're either clouded with bias or don't understand hockey. You can hate everything about his game and think he has no place in the league, it does not change that your team would trip over themselves to get him.

Pens fan here completely agreeing with you.

I’d take Wilson in a second so he’d quit f***ing our players up :)

Same thing happened here with Kasparaitis. We hated him as an Islander when he destroyed us but loved him when he played for us.

Who said anything about head and shoulders above? I didn’t. They are two evenly matched teams which is why the games went to OT so often. You are right the Pens are better at 3v3 hockey. Good thing for the Caps that doesn’t exist in the playoffs.

I really like watching the caps to see Ovi score goals, and Wilson is turning me off from that team. That was disgusting and the league needs to send a message otherwise the rangers need to call up a scrub from the AHL to take care of Wilson. I dunno/

You know it’s f***ed when I just start thinking in Game of Thrones terms- just hire “the mountain” and be done with it, that’s what the league is asking for letting this shit stain run around.

Means nothing. Caps are winning the division - while having Covid issues, injury issues, and many other things. Pitt in a 7 game series are the worst of the four playoff teams in that division - for sure

lol at the caps having injury issues... through may 1st they have one of the fewest games lost to injury and covid in the league... their cap hit of injured players missed time is 12th best in the league

Anybody who can call this "intent to injure" with a straight face has... I don't know, either never thrown a punch or never been hit, maybe both.

You'd have to be intensely f***ing stupid to want to hurt a guy and then not even follow through on your own punch. I know you'll all double down on the stupid part but if there's one thing I've been assure of it's that Wilson knows what he's doing and lives for this... so why not actually do it?

So the riding the guy to the ground with your stick under his neck is not intent to injure. Or maybe the punching the guy in the back of the head whose neck is still resting on your stick. Or how about throwing a guy that is holding you back with no helmet to the ice. Then hitting him on the ground.

If you ever got in a fight in your life you know the rule is you don’t do someone on the ground that is how you seriously hurt someone. But yes Wilson was just defending his crease. It’s almost like Washington fans have never played a game of hockey in their lives.

You are jumping into an argument between another Capitals fan and quoting me responding to him.

That Caps fan earlier said the Capitals are clearly head and shoulders above the Penguins.

I don't think there's a tangible difference between any of the top-4 teams in the division. It's just a Caps fan insisted the Caps were way better.
