At least it was entertainment. Hockey is so soft now.

If that happened when I was a child I would be cheering at my TV at the sheer entertainment. Hockey is like ice skating now. The other team should teach Tom a lesson by bashing him in instead of whining to the refs.

The world has evolved. So should you.

Can anyone show me more of these nightly "hockey scrums" that are referenced in this thread? The "hockey scrums" where guys are getting slammed to the ice, head first? The "hockey scrums" where players are body slammed to the ice, leaving with injury?

Let me get you a box of tissues and some pen and paper so you can write down your list of excuses.

Dear lord. My team is injured. COVID!! Someone took my ball.

The Caps are 2-6 against the Penguins. That’s all that matters. So your assertion that they are “heads and shoulders” better than the Penguins is not only ridiculously stupid, it makes you look like the biggest dumbass on the boards.
They are better. By far. Pens are not a threat in playoffs any more. They’ve been irrelevant since caps knocked them out three years ago. Since then they lost to Montreal in a play in round 3-1.

pens are 1-7 in last 8 playoff games with Malkin having 4 total points in those 8 games as well as Crosby. They are done and not built for playoffs these days.

sorry caps are still a threat/best team in division AGAIN. You guys are def losing to Boston or Islanders

He's not comparing and contrasting. He's trying to devalue other opinions based off actions of other players that have nothing to do with the conversation as a means of deflecting the actions of what the conversation is about.

I mean personally, I agree with you about Wilson. But it is relevant to bring up other human scum like Marchand as well in the course of the discussion.

Ummm... doesn’t really matter at all. What matters are the next 4 7-game series’

It certainly does matter when you have one of your comrades pounding his chest like the Capitals actually did anything against the Pens this year

They could very well sweep the Penguins.

But sitting here today and staying the Penguins are mediocre and the Capitals are head and shoulders about them is one of the most ridiculous things I have read.

Anybody who can call this "intent to injure" with a straight face has... I don't know, either never thrown a punch or never been hit, maybe both.

You'd have to be intensely f***ing stupid to want to hurt a guy and then not even follow through on your own punch. I know you'll all double down on the stupid part but if there's one thing I've been assure of it's that Wilson knows what he's doing and lives for this... so why not actually do it?
You’re right, everyone should give Wilson the benefit of the doubt

I’ve changed my mind and think he should he suspended simply because of this
Absolutely zero awareness of how much a douche bag he looks like. If anyone was undecided on how much a complete and total moron Wilson is, he just went and removed all doubts with this little doozy.

Holy shit! Guess what?! They do have that in the regular season. You know where they play head to head and figure out which team wins each game?

If the Caps wanted to be better than the Penguins in the regular season, may be they should suck at OT since it is a part of the regular season game.

Don’t make horrific claims about being head and shoulders above another team if you can only beat the 2 out of 8 f***ing tries.
Who said anything about head and shoulders above? I didn’t. They are two evenly matched teams which is why the games went to OT so often. You are right the Pens are better at 3v3 hockey. Good thing for the Caps that doesn’t exist in the playoffs.

This stuff is what creates rivalries. Because hockey is so soft now, I feel like I'm singing Kumbaya with Oilers and Flame fans. Really devout of that rivalry... There's a reason you still remember guys like Zach Stortini in the Oilers, physical stuff, line brawls, entertainment, memories, money's worth.

Sorry, players getting concussions and serious mental issues isn’t as cool as it used to be

Oh man I love the hyperbole. I do not believe in the 100+ year history of hockey anyone has been killed on the ice. I could be wrong. But of all the insane shit that happened back in the day nobody was killed. But of course big bad Tom Wilson is the most dangerous player in NHL history.

You know how they award the Masterton every year right?

The Caps fans gloating after beating a team that just got eliminated from the playoffs with a bunch of injured players/rookies is just awesome. It's like they forgot one cup in 50 years doesn't really make you a top franchisee. The islanders may be far from it, but some of you people are hilarious, thanks for the laughs...cheers!!
