Wait.

We are equating defending guys trying to actually physically injure (not just play tough) other humans to ping pong balls?

Really? That’s where we are, now? That’s where you want to go with this?
No.
I am saying that every fan base will defend anything. Lottery luck, cheap shots, stealing signs, sucker punches. They all have their defenders and those defenders just happen to be fans of the team in question.

But I have never said these things are equal.

Can people really sit here and say hockey is getting soft and that happens in every scrum as a way to try and justify this? Regardless if you don't think hes getting suspended you aren't paying attention.

"Multiple times" as in twice. In like 50 years of existence. Twice.

"The Caps are head and shoulders above the Penguins", he says as the Penguins went 6-2 against the Capitals this year and are currently ahead of them in the standings.
No they’re not. Caps tied in points with game in hand amd own the tiebreaker. Caps are winning the division.

The odd thing about HFBoards is that they allow for scumbags to defend scumbag plays like this where there is a literal intent to injure and injuries occur.

Yet you can’t talk about how nice it would be for that scumbag to be injured themselves (I remember finding it amusing when Bryan Marchment had his knee ligaments separated, for example, after years of dirty knee on knee hits).

It’s truly bizarre.

He just jumped 3 players because hes mad about a penalty earlier in the game. Hasn't been a bigger pos than him since Matt Cook. Should never play another game in the NHL again, a danger to everyone.
Edit: Video

Edit #2: Also did this and Panarin left the game. Embarrassment

Everyone remember that 'whopping' 7 games he got to 'teach him a lesson' for hitting Carlo in the head? Here he is again at it trying to injure to the head...

...oh and Carlo is still out and hasn't played since.

As someone else said, the Wings have more success in a 5 year period (a few of them actually) than your team has had in its nearly 50 year existence

If we're gifted the best player in the NHL like the Caps were with Ovi (by being awful) and only make it past the second round ONCE in his entire career then I would be incredibly embarrassed.
Cool. No one cares about the past,

as of recent - which is all anyone cares about unless you’re old and bitter - the caps are one of best franchises in nhl over past decade.

Who cares? Caps haven’t played their main roster at all. Ovi has been out. Covid issues. Etc.

playoffs in a 7 game series pens cannot beat caps or any team in the division making playoffs. They’re no longer built for that.

Let me get you a box of tissues and some pen and paper so you can write down your list of excuses.

Dear lord. My team is injured. COVID!! Someone took my ball.

The Caps are 2-6 against the Penguins. That’s all that matters. So your assertion that they are “heads and shoulders” better than the Penguins is not only ridiculously stupid, it makes you look like the biggest dumbass on the boards.

Oh wow, you're totally right that one team that has a losing record and the same amount of points as another team is "head and shoulders" above the other team.

Lol when the Caps lose in the 1st round to the Bruins again this year, I wonder what excuse you'll give for the Caps being "the best team". At least I can admit my team is flawed and they're capable of doing wrong, which you seem incapable of.

Yet you literally just equated them.

Anybody who can call this "intent to injure" with a straight face has... I don't know, either never thrown a punch or never been hit, maybe both.

You'd have to be intensely f***ing stupid to want to hurt a guy and then not even follow through on your own punch. I know you'll all double down on the stupid part but if there's one thing I've been assure of it's that Wilson knows what he's doing and lives for this... so why not actually do it?

At least it was entertainment. Hockey is so soft now.

If that happened when I was a child I would be cheering at my TV at the sheer entertainment. Hockey is like ice skating now. The other team should teach Tom a lesson by bashing him in instead of whining to the refs.

This stuff is what creates rivalries. Because hockey is so soft now, I feel like I'm singing Kumbaya with Oilers and Flame fans. Really devout of that rivalry... There's a reason I still remember guys like Zach Stortini in the Oilers, physical stuff, line brawls, entertainment, memories, money's worth.
