Caps fans just know that since it’s been proven that headshots are extremely dangerous they employ the biggest pos that intentionally injures guys in this era.... there is no defense for him so they are throwing out strawmen left and right

he is garbage and should not be allowed to earn an nhl paycheck anymore... for anyone...,
location checks out.

TVR was guarding the crease next to Buchnevich and jostling with him yet you don't see him drive him down and punch the back of his head.

Pavel may have crossed the line there too but when the play's stopped, I don't see how it's acceptable for anyone to keep socking Strome as the third man in, then when Panarin came to support Strome he turned on him, then throw Panarin down and start hitting him. In short, Buchnevich may have started it but Wilson doesn't get to keep going and escalating it as he pleases just because he's the toughest out there.
I don't necessarily disagree with any of that.

I just think the initial angle in the OP is incredibly misleading and Wilson very clearly does not punch Buchnevich in the back of the head like 99% of this board now believes.

I can't comment for sure, but Caps fans defending Wilson at this point is pretty comparable to Penguins fans defending Cooke after his ultra dirty hit in 2011:

I wasn't on this board at the time, so I have no clue if Penguins fans did that, but I can't reasonably see how any Penguins fan could defend him at that point.

Yea, its not a good look on any fan base to defend what is clearly despicable - but its pretty typical of every fan base. Just read how obnoxious Ranger fans have been defending their recent BS "lottery luck."

Do you think that cross checks hurt? Why do you think people dish them out in front of the net so often? It's not to let you know where they are, it's to discourage you from continuing to be there.

He punched him in the face to punch him in the face. It doesn't immediately signal some career-ending malice. It's a short jab with no follow through, with the glove on it's probably not meant to do much more than surprise a guy and give him a little heads up that he shouldn't do that again.

This isn't new to the sport or anything.

Cross checks are illegal and I think they should get called 10/10 times. It annoys me that players can crosscheck a guy in front of the net over and over until he finally falls and then there is a penalty. Right just so we are on the same page. Wilson punched a guy who was cheek down on the ice, to hurt him. And some people wonder why Wilson is so disliked by every team but the caps

It wasn't worse because the players were lucky he didn't injure them long term. Just because you didn't succeed at injuring someone, doesn't mean you weren't trying.
Yeah its definitely not good.

Just with Wilson you expect the absolute worst to happen.

Somebody needs to end this guy's career asap

The only people who should be ending his career is the DOPS.

They have failed multiple players.. he has wrecked.

I agree with those who say man up, every team has had dirty crap players without defending them. Own up....

What are you taking about? They’ve made it past second round multiple times.

who cares about the past? Those aren’t the same players, owner, coaches, etc. it’s about right now - and right now caps are heads and shoulders above pens.

The Penguins are literally 6-2 against the Capitals this year.

What in the living f*** are you talking about?

Did Tom Wilson cheap shot you today also? You a bit woozy? Concussion symptoms?

Punches to the face aren’t penalties you idiots. I saw Giordano rock Puljujaarvi in the face with a punch right in front of the game managers on Saturday. No penalty. Therefore, no penalty on this Wilson play of course. Rules are consistent in this league right?
Punches in the face? When they are down on the ice and prone? That was called a mugging.

"Multiple times" as in twice. In like 50 years of existence. Twice.

"The Caps are head and shoulders above the Penguins", he says as the Penguins went 6-2 against the Capitals this year and are currently ahead of them in the standings.

He just jumped 3 players because hes mad about a penalty earlier in the game. Hasn't been a bigger pos than him since Matt Cook. Should never play another game in the NHL again, a danger to everyone.
Edit: Video

Edit #2: Also did this and Panarin left the game. Embarrassment

I hope you're joking. His "punch" on Bush is a love tap and something that happened in every scrum in every game up until like 3 years ago.

I hope the Rangers aren't this soft, because if they are, it's probably better for them that they didn't make the playoffs.

Really there is something mentally wrong with him.
Same with the fans that keep defending him or brush it off, but no doubt would drown their town with their tears if someone decided to sucker punch him ala Todd Bertuzzi Steve Moore

The most winning franchise in past decade - so if that’s “losing franchise” you’re clueless.

meanwhile the pens may their fourth straight playoff series loss in round one coming up...
You enjoy your regular season success. We’ll be over here enjoying our 5 Stanley Cup wins and 2 of the top 5 hockey players of all time.

3 presidents trophy. About to win sixth straight division - a recent cup.
As a wings fan you have nothing to talk about. You’re franchise has been irrelevant for awhile now. It’s a right now league. No one cares about what happened 10-20 years ago unless you were big fans during those times.

caps are a fantastic franchise right now. A great team and a team that had won more than anyone else over past decade. Winning is fun - even if it is only one cup in past few years. Still experienced more nights of my team winning than anyone else
Now this is one of the hottest takes I have ever read here. The Wings had more success in 5 years than your franchise had in near 50.

Are you the GM of Boston or something lol.... cool no interest, you'd be fired if that was your professional take as a GM/scout

You can think what you'd like but you'd be wrong. Wilson is a distraction too often and is going to continue losing control until he ends a career. He continues trending in the wrong direction, babied at every step by his captain and teammates after each of his incidents.

This would not fit in many team cultures.
